This was a fun project I did my sophomore year at Bethel University in my Intro to Video Production class. It was presented in a news show consisting of several features of different genres; needless to say my group was responsible for the comedic feature, and this was my contribution. It was shot with a small "handycam" style camera, and, as it was only 2005, edited in Premiere Pro 1.5 or so, by exporting the clips as filmstrip files and rotoscoping them in Photoshop. Man, do I wish RotoBrush was around back then! It took somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 hours to edit, rotoscope, sync sound effects, etc. Filmmaker's Secret: You may notice that my flip has a cut in it, quite transparent, if you ask me, as I did not land my flip! I was, and still am, crazy enough to do whatever it takes to get the shot! While some of it is quite corny, I think you'll enjoy this Star Wars fan's take on a lightsaber fight, from early in his filmmaking days! Credits Cinematography: Zach Tarraf Actors: Rand Thill as Jedi Knight & Jonathan Kuriscak as Ape Sith Music: Battle of the Heroes as heard in "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" by John Williams Lightsaber Rotoscoping Technique Used: http://www.alienryderflex.com/rotoscope/+ More details

'Off the East Peak' is a film poem which also is a study in working with slightly animated overlays and landscape textures. The source file by Tønnes Brekne, shot on a Canon 5d mkii, was first processed in VirtualDub for color grading to bring back some pop into the detail of it, and then brought into Sony Vegas for compositing to work with subtly animated contrast overlays and final polish. eyenorth.com+ More details
