Korg Monotribe with Cassini Synth for iPhone. Cassini was triggered via MIDI writer app, that allows to transform text into a MIDI signal. The following quote by Stockhausen was the basis for the arrangement: "But since the middle of the century in particular, the music has become very irregular in rhythm"

For some time now I study the interplay between fear and experienced presence in virtual environments. Of central interest to is the impact of the representation of the self in these artificial worlds. I also look into certain "system factors" like display size or display resolution. Recently I finished a study in which a not so itsy bitsy spider was programmed to approach subjects seated right in front of a powerwall. Check the video below and feel free to e-mail me, if you would like to discuss this or any related topic.

Overt actions allow us to interact directly with our environment. By definition, though, covert mental activity is unobservable by a third party and does not translate to action in the outside world. Real-time functional magnetic resonance imaging (rtfMRI) is a nascent technology that can convert thought into action by transducing noninvasive brain measurements into a control signal to drive physical devices and computer displays, and enable neurofeedback. We have developed an rtfMRI system that is based on multivariate predictive models (e.g. support vector machines) that determine the relationship between the image data and the corresponding sensory/behavioral conditions (brain states). This seminar will present recent studies in which we have found that subject-based control involved frontoparietal circuitry and increased the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of task-related brain activity. Importantly, the enhanced SNR was highly correlated to improved prediction accuracy of brain state classifiers, and because these classifiers serve as the control signal for neurofeedback, this work suggests the exciting possibility that brain-computer interfaces can be substantially enhanced by taking advantage of this effect.

Wow. My computer gives me such freedom to do things my way, to express myself and make things happen that a younger me would never have been able to. At the proverbial click of a button I create, share and expand my own and others horizon... So why doesn't it do what I want it to do and why is it f***ing with me in a way that makes me want to throw the damned thing into the closest wall? F*** you, you f***ing f*** of a PC company! Money hungry piranha swine guzzling my income like there was no tomorrow just to fill your pockets with ill-gotten cash from making people feel that their almost new f***ing machinery is f***ing broken when it's all because of your f***ing programs. Filthy Unloveable Computer Kings! The music is a song I wrote for a performance some years ago, quickly recorded in Garageband. This video is one of the tools for a new, open-source physical-theatre project by Jens Bäckvall and Christian Adelhorst Rossil.
Every day in 2012, we will create a small movement or other idea for the stage with a minimum length of 10 seconds. This will be filmed and uploaded. The uploads are not meant as finished material, but are sketches for possible further work.
Every video and the things done in them are open-source, meaning that anyone may copy, use or be inspired by the videos and movements and use them in any way they want to. All that we ask is that you mention our names in any flyers etc. if you use it. Also, we ask you to comment on the material, either through writing or creating and filming material of your own. Anything you upload will also become open-source and a part of the project.
In the beginning of 2013, we will create a performance, based on and using some or all of the material that we, and others, have created.

See our home-page for more information: ‪http://www.t-nova.org/2473652012-EN.html Enjoy!

                      What are Tags?

Tags are keywords that describe videos. For example, a video of your Hawaiian vacation might be tagged with "Hawaii," "beach," "surfing," and "sunburn."
