      • Fenestration Energy Performance Rating Label

from AABC Commissioning Group Added 0 0 0

This session will give you a detailed look at how the NFRC rating system works, its interaction with Energy Star, and what information it provides about the performance and energy characteristics of fenestration products such as windows, frames, and doors. Understanding how U-factors, visible transmittance, solar heat gain coefficient and condensation resistance ratings are determined will be useful to energy managers, commissioning providers and design engineers. The presentation slides are available in PDF format at: http://commissioning.org/downloads/2015/Herron_PPT.pdf Presented by: Tom Herron, MBA, LEED GA National Fenestration Rating Council This presentation was originally given at CxEnergy 2015 Conference in Henderson, NV on Thursday, April 30, 2015.

          • WA$TED Season1 - Parry Family

            from Fumes Added

The WA$TED team heads out to of town to show the Parry family how to enjoy and preserve the country lifestyle they love. Francesca and Tristan show the Parrys how to effectively heat an old damp villa, surprise Mike with a 4WD hybrid and most importantly, how to save money – and the environment! Synopsis: Englishman Mike and shopaholic air hostess Maxine recently relocated to the countryside for a clean, green life. However the WA$TED! team quickly discovers their lifestyle is anything but that: they throw out 97 bags of rubbish every six months, Mike commutes 90 minutes each day to work and their beautiful villa holds some closet eco-crimes. Francesca and Tristan get to work, finding a way to get rid of the Parrys’ food scraps, and how to avoid Mike’s prepackaged meal addiction. They reveal how the Parrys’ five unflued heaters are not only creating condensation but making their home harder to heat. Francesca discovers a way to bring their energy bills down by installing a solar panel to heat their water and installing insulation in the ceiling. The Parrys’ home has been turned into an eco dream, but will their habits be as easily changed and will it result in any cash savings?

                from Al Heck Added 12.6K 92 4

In this tutorial, we tackle how to create water condensation on a delicious can of soda. To do this, we will use sub-polygonal displacement. We drop the water droplet displacement channel "between" the can geometry so only the water droplets pop out the edge of the can. To do this tutorial, go to www.renderready.com to download the start file and watch as I help build the rest with you. Enjoy!

An XPresso rig that lets you add condensation to any object! Have you ever spent an inordinate amount of time trying to create this effect? Pulled an all-nighter? Had a client breathing down your neck while you fooled around with displacement maps and went hunting for tutorials? No longer! The rig lets you work with 4 sets of condensation types - BIG DROPS, SMALL DROPS and MICRO DROPS - that will interact as metaballs. A fourth type, MIST, is non-metaball and is meant for detail work. (It does not interact with the other types.) Finally, there are 10 options for runny condesation or DRIPS. Features include: Show/Hide Controls! Only see the controls you need. No clutter! 10 Presets Cool HUD Thumbnails 10 scaleable Drips that follow the contour of your object Baking!
