        from CEDMS - tlr Added

"National Financial Capability Month" first started as "Financial Literacy Day" and later evolved into "Financial Literacy Month" It was introduced by the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE) more than a decade ago as an activity of its High School Financial Planning Program. NEFE turned Financial Literacy Day over to Jump$tart and they expanded the day into Youth Financial Literacy Month and later, simply, Financial Literacy Month. April was formally recognized as Financial Literacy Month in resolutions by the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives beginning in 2003. In March 2004 the Senate passed Resolution 316 that officially recognized April as National Financial Literacy Month. In 2012, the Obama Administration changed the name to National Financial Capability Month. In President Obama's 2014 Presidential Proclamation, he stated that "In today's economy, financial capability is essential for some of life's biggest transitions — paying for college, buying a home, saving for retirement. A solid understanding of the marketplace makes it easier to avoid scams, spot misleading information, and decipher complex paperwork". • CBE Group - How to Stop Them from Harassing You

                from Sergey Cosack Added 131 0 0

If you're the victim debt collector harassment from CBE Group, Lemberg and associates will fight for your rights to deliver the cash compensation you may be entitled to. We make lawbreakers pay! Abusive collectors are liable for up to one thousand dollars in damages plus court costs and attorneys fees. Reclaim your life, gain pieces of mind, and stop law-breaking debt collectors in their tracks.CBE Group may have accreditation from the Better Business Bureau, but the company has also been named as defendant in two dozens lawsuits over the past year. These lawsuits allege that CBE Group violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices act. Based in Iowa, CBE group focuses on six areas of collection: healthcare, utilities, telecommunications, financial services, education, and government. That pretty much covers all aspects of a consumer's life. CBE Group collects everything from deliquent taxes in student loans to hospital and cellphone bills. Many consumers complain that CBE Group relentlessly calls people who have inherited phone numbers from other people who owe the money, even when told that they have the wrong number. How do you get CBE group to stop calling you? First you can write a cease and desist letter. Explain that they have the wrong person and insist that they stop calling you. Make sure to send your letter via certified mail with a return receipt requested. If debt collectors from CBE Group persist in calling you, make sure to keep a log. Note the date and time of each call, the name of the debt collector, and what was said. Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, debt collectors, who violate the law, must pay consumers up to one thousand, dollars plus attorney's fees. A fair debt attorney can represent you at no charge, and can readily evaluate your case. It's also important to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau and with the Federal Trade Commission. The Federal Trade Commission uses complaints as part of their enforcement efforts and to keep tabs on the debt collection industry. If you have been harassed by a debt collection agency, you have rights. In simplest terms the debt collection agency must be honest about who they are, why they're calling you. They may not pester you with several calls every day, and if they call you at work and you asked them to stop they must. One of the most important things to know is that no debt collector is allowed to lie to you about who they are, or why they are calling. If you inform them in writing that the debt is invalid that becomes a collector's obligation to prove that the debt is yours. You should always understand the statute of limitations in your state regarding debt collections, and know how to protect your rights. The legal team at Lemberg and Associates is committed to holding debt collectors accountable, and will fight for your rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzS8p1t05uU

                      from Evan Conklin Added 564 0 1

It was discovered that 80% of all residential plumbing work was performed by unlicensed plumbers in Washington State in spite of the law requiring a license. A complaint by a local plumber to his state senator resulted in a bill getting into senate hearings that would have made it possible for the regulatory agency and the consumer to spot the fraud at the advertising level. In spite of the fact that at least 2.2 BILLION dollars is involved, there was no support for the bill that would have protected the licensed plumber and the homeowner from scam artists falsely advertising.licensed services. There was great well funded opposition to the bill however. It became apparent that our legislative process is moved by the money interests.not on the merit or need for consumer protections. Out of frustration, Evan Conklin produced this animation hoping that the public will notice that they are the victims of a very big bait & switch scheme that is redefining an entire industry (residential plumbing service and repair) as a sales and marketing hustle.
