    Last autumn British science writer Marcus Chown published a book called We Need to Talk about Kelvin (Faber), in which he took the reader from apparently simple everyday occurrences like seeing your face reflected in a window pane to profound questions about how our universe is structured. In this short film he responds to the question first posed by Enrico Fermi - the Italian physicist who developed the first nuclear reactor - about the apparent absence of extraterrestrial life: "Where is everybody?"
