The lengths of the coal unit trains has increased these past three years. There was quite a bit of grumbling regarding the service that CP provided and some of the producers actually changed to CN as the designated hauler which meant CP delivered and picked up the trains to/from CN at CN Kamloops Yard.

First video stop driving East, prior to this it was either raining hard, raining a bit less .... but it kept raining. And there must have been several blocks on. For instance there was not a single wheel standing or turning at Field, BC. Completely empty yard and there was radio silence between Sicamous and Golden, where a WB coal train was approaching the Jct. Other than that .... nothing!

I produced this mini-documentary at CNN back in 2009, as a companion piece to the book, "Cheating Death." that I wrote with our chief medical correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta. It looks at some dramatic advances in emergency care and critical medicine that are pushing doctors to rethink the notion of when irreversible death occurs. SInce we first told the story, some of the cutting-edge techniques have become almost commonplace. Just one example: In 2009, it was rare to hear about a patient surviving after their heart had stopped for more than 10 or 15 minutes. A 57-minute save, like we see at one point in the program, was almost inconceivable. Today, while it certainly isn't common, a quick scan of the news will turn up many cases of recovery after CPR lasting an hour or more. The limits of medicine are always expanding.

A short video I created for Heartstart Thatcham, local non-profit group. A bit basic and I know could be much better with backing music, better voice over and graphics. That will come in time, but this is my first attempt and had to be done in a rush! Apreaciate CONSTRUCTIVE feedback, examples of similar videos or if you want to have a go, let me know.
