    • Ada Arduini 6/7 The investments into creative industries can increase economic development of the region

      from Culturefighter Added 34 0 0

Verona is a very conservative town so I think it was kind of difficult for us to understand that we are part its development. I can say that I understood that thanks to Trans Europe Halls - because it helped me to understand what’s going on in Europe and that our situation here in Verona can be compared to situations in other places. Even though Verona is a very rich city, I don’t think that the local municipality really understands that also contemporary culture and creative industries can push economy forward. I believe that investing into creativity could really make our life better and it would also increase economy development of the places where we live. I am really convinced about that and I can feel that here in Italy exists a big gap between politician´s way of thinking and way of thinking of people like us - people that are trying to give our city better cultural opportunities.

Cinematic leader for 23rd Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival. We were asked by the AFFF to create the festival leader, based on the poster design by Jeroen Joosse. For us the main challenge was to make hundreds of discs form a flat image and then make that image fly away in 3D. from Afterlight Added 2,642 16 2

Project: Interstices in a synaptic space Location: GLOW 2011, Eindhoven, Square Stratumseind Interstices in a synaptic space focuses on the human brain. Dynamic images are projected on a static drawing. With light, darkness and colors abstract compositions are built up and torn down again. The base remains constant though. The work is a metaphor for the functioning of the brain. The gray matter does not change much in form and structure, but accommodates complex processes: shreds of thoughts, forged into ideas or pushed into the background. With optical illusions and delusive sound Afterlight leads the public into an animated adventure through the cracking vaults of our brain.
