On Sunday July 5th Warrior Run hosted the inaugural ‘Immortal Challenge’ which saw less than 100 runners race across a short sprint distance course in a knockout tournament. The course was between 1.5km-2km long and extremely obstacle heavy featuring all of the permanent features of the Warrior Run obstacle village plus a few extra surprises. There was 2 hours of freeplay on the obstacles before the tournament started but sadly the heavy rain kept a lot of competitors waiting in their cars. This made the competitive heats a very exciting as for most it was the very first time they hit the course.

So What's kidsparkour.com Well, it's a site to support both kids and adults in acting like kids. The idea is simply to encourage everyone to be more active through the promotion of the things we did naturally when we were kids, play. In my personal workouts I do a lot of things. My favorite thing to do is in this video, it combines parkour, cross country, a few bodyweight exercise, obstacle course racing and interval training. The whole workout isn't in the video of course. Didn't have room for walking on bars etc. But it was a fun and silly morning.

This was a combination 5K CC Run and 8 Fitness Stations along the track. Great idea and it looked like they all had a lot of fun (some were pretty tired looking but they still had fun)! B.E.A.S.T. is an acronym for "Beyond Endurance And Strength Training".

**NOTES ABOUT THIS VIDEO** This is intended to provide information regarding when each state in the United States officially sanctioned their high school cross-country state (or regional) championship. This video occurs in a chronological time-lapse and plays VERY FAST (faster than you will be able to read it). I highly encourage you to read the following PDF, which provides a detailed list of the information inside this video. http://tinyurl.com/HS-Sanctioning-Timeline All state organizations are members of the NFHS (the National Federation of High Schools). Some Quick Facts: Wisconsin was the first state to sanction a State Meet for boys cross-country, which they did in 1913. Iowa was the first state to sanction a girls championship in 1966, when the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union sanctioned a girls cross-country state meet. Vermont, Rhode Island and Montana were the first states to incorporate a girls championship alongside a boys championship, which they all did in 1971. California was the final state to sanction a state meet in cross-country, which they did in 1987. Despite this, California was one of the first to regionally sectionize the sport of cross-country, which maintained balanced oversight of the sport in different sections of the state. Every year approximately 500,000 boys and girls run high school cross-country in the United States. Not all states run an agreed-upon set "institutionalized" distance for cross-country. For boys, some state meets occur just under 3 miles, some state meets are run at 3 miles exactly, and others still are run at 5 kilometers. For girls, distances range from 2 miles all the way to 5 kilometers. (For more information on this, here is an enlightening article: http://www.runnersworld.com/high-school-racing/turmoil-texas) State-by-State individual cross-country championship records are here: http://tinyurl.com/boys-XC-rec and here again is the PDF of the timeline seen in this video: http://tinyurl.com/HS-Sanctioning-Timeline
