A epic 5 minute brand film created by Mark Toya and Zoom Films for 2xu compression wear. Method worked on creating the stadium/crowd shots as well as a stylised heart sequence. This is a cut down to show the scenes we worked on, you can see the entire short at: https://vimeo.com/118023701 I worked on this as project lead as well as 3d generalist, crowd simulations and compositing. Worked with a great group of very talented people ranging from matte painters, 3d artists, animators, compositors and to everyone involved with shooting the fantastic plates we worked with. Client: 2xu Director: Mark Toya Production: Zoom FIlm & TV Producer: Hamish Mcdonald Sound: Nylon Matte Painting/CG: Method Studios Melbourne Producer: Steven Kerswell

There is substantial evidence that VR can give rise to a feeling of being in the place depicted by the virtual environment displays, a sensation known as Presence If the experience is realistic we should be able to see the same physiological responses of people in virtual environments as we see in real environments. One area of research that has been tested in terms of comparing real-world and VR for emotions is in Proxemics. Proxemics is the study of interpersonal distance and its influence on anxiety - the distances that people maintain with each other in social situations. Previous research has shown that people respond to invasions of personal space as they do in the real world. This manifests itself in heightened measures of anxiety – increases in electrodermal activity (EDA). These videos are from my experiments measuring EDA is people situated in a VR CAVE display watching these events. I made the environment using 3DS Max. The simulation is facilitated by Unity3D (the best game engine ever)
