http://www.gty.org/video/international/RU-V8242-246 English Title: The Murder of God's Son: A Prophetic Parable, Part 2 (Luke 20:9-18) John MacArthur (Russian) Откроем Луки 20-ю...

Affliction is an old word that most don’t use today, but have experienced. It describes the state of being pained or distressed by oppressors. It also describes in vivid detail the experience Jesus endured for us. Both at his trial and on the cross, and then, after his death, what He did to the enemy of our soul. Today, we begin a series called, “Afflicted” and will share the powerful reasons Jesus was afflicted and what it means to you today.

The affliction Jesus endured was beyond anything we can imagine, but there is one aspect of affliction that was greater in intensity than any other affliction. It was so powerful that it caused Jesus to say something uncharacteristic while on the cross, something He said only one time, but that affliction brought about the possibility for men and women to know God. In this video, Pastor John Utley of Radiant Life Church in Elkhart, Indiana (www.radiantlife.us) will reveal the worst affliction Jesus endured and what it accomplished for all of us.

I do not know if you've heard that we need to crucify the flesh and die away from it daily. There are many Christians who say that the flesh must be crucified daily, and we must die away from it daily.
In a way we are saying this, even if they do not say it directly: The flesh and the old nature are not completely dead and it must be suppressed, or crucified.

In fact there is nowhere in the Bible where it says that we must crucify the flesh daily, everywhere it says that the flesh, or the old nature, old man, was crucified. It's in the past tense, it has already occurred. It happened in the past.
 Gal 5:24
24 But those belonging to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.

Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ... So why then do some say that we have to crucify the flesh? This I believe is because we often do not feel that we already are crucified, we feel that the sin nature still lives in us.

Have you ever expereinced the highs and lows of Christ at the same time? This sermon helps us to think in terms of a journey that Christ took from a triumphant entry into Jerusalem--- to shouts of "Crucify him!" This sermon prepares us to take the journey with Christ to Easter Sunday.
