A very quick & rough edit of the first footage I took with my new camera, the Panasonic GH3. I came from a point and shoot consumer camcorder. So filming with interchangeable lenses and lots of functions is new to me. Some footage made me really happy and some doesn't. Have to find out what's causing the gap and I need to catch up with focusing and light. Everything was handheld. Special thanks to the wonderful Bill Newsinger, a music maker who kindly let me use his great music. Hope to work more with this guy! www.Footage: Panasonic Lumix GH3 handhold www.Lens: Panasonic 12-35 mm f 2.8, B&W XS-Pro UV filter www.Settings: All-I 24p, picture style standard, contrast 0, sharpness 0, saturation 0, noise reduction 0, no color grading www.Editing: Final Cut Pro www.Music: On road recorded sounds like praying muezzins at oases Igmir & Memory 20 - Bill Newsinger

We covered extreme climates of the world, thanks to the power of a bike and also to all the people that helped us on the way. You don't need much to achieve your dream of travel, and that's what we want to show in our project and in this video too. 20 months ago my step father Steve had a mountaineering accident, which left him paralysed and in need of major rehabilitation. Six months ago he learnt with my help to ride a bike, let alone walk or talk. Helping him transfer his passion for barren harsh environments and technical climbing / mountaineering to cycling, through said harshness, has been both a privilege and an amazing story of fortitude and courage..... it does help him being belligerent as hell, but quite simply put all who meet him and hear the story and then see us cycle off are amazed.. This is the first part of, what little I managed to film of our trip, as we went around we got the photographic gear out and did our best to record the landscape as well. hopefully the subsequent films will give you a taste of the islands, our trip and our work. Everything has been shot with my N95 phone both on and off the bike...8gb is enough for a trip apparently..

This short narrative is about my fall of 2013 six-day cycling “micro adventure”. The short journey brought me to some outstanding close-to-home places that I would have otherwise never have seen. The solo trip covered a figure of eight route following a variety of trails and roads (some of them abandoned) across the northwestern corner of the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. I shot this video using two ailing cameras: a NEX7 (with some significant design issues…) and Canon Elph 100 (which had been dropped and was not working at all well). Warning: the sections along: (i) while 'doable', the north side of Crescent Lk is not suitable for touring bikes (at this time?); and (ii) the labyrinth of old roads between the Makah hatchery south to Ozette Lk are mostly abandoned and difficult to navigate. Also, truck traffic along hwy 112 can be very heavy; traveling late in the day may be the best option for cyclists to avoid heavy truck traffic. •PEOPLE: While not featured here, this journey's experience was enhanced by the amazing people I met along the way. A special thanks to Janet, Keith, Vern, Anne, and especially Gary, for making this trip all the more worthwhile.

'The trail in front of you, best friend beside you and your world on the back of your bike. It doesn’t get much better than that!’ In August we decided to plan a multi day off road biking adventure. A journey from A to B, camping, pedalling and carrying all our own stuff. We chose Wales as our destination and decided on a coast to coast trip, Conway to Cardiff to be exact. It didn't go entirely to plan.
