I'm part way through filming a new thing that (unless my back wheel blows out) will (hopefully) be mostly street throughout different areas here in the Philippines. There may or may not be more than just bunny hops in it. Probably not.

Last year twice as many New Zealanders took their own lives as were killed on the roads. This doesn't account for suicide attempts or self harm and a disproportionate number were Maori and Pacific Islanders. Stress, anxiety and depression experienced during childhood can have long-reaching consequences for children, impacting their academic performance, self-esteem, mood, concentration and behaviour. The Mindfulness in Schools Programme aims to prevent the development of childhood mental distress by encouraging positive mental health practices for children at primary school level. On October 11, 2014 Ride Out of the Blue’s 10 core riders began their journey up New Zealand. It was a gruelling cycle ride from Bluff to Cape Reinga totalling 2,330km over 22 days. Ride Out of the Blue was raising awareness of suicide and depression in New Zealand and raising funds for the Mental Health Foundation’s Mindfulness in Schools Programme. Ride Out of the Blue stopped in towns across the country, speaking to schoolchildren and spreading the word to the community that the stigma of depression and suicide needs to be removed. Thanks to all who raised money for the development and implementation of the vital Mindfulness Initiative through the Mental Health Foundation for a stronger mental health awareness in New Zealand. This was the third Ride Out of the Blue as it is now a biennial event that we hope will continue into the future. This is the sequel of Cycling in Namibia part 1 (North), with 1400 new kilometers from Windhoek to the Orange river, bordering South Africa, in July and August 2014. The Part 2 (South) features the C26 through the Khomas Highland and the Kupferberg pass, the forever blue skies around the HESS telescope, the very steep Spreetshoogte pass near the Tropic of Capricorn, the incredible views from the dunes over Dead Vlei and Sossusvlei, lots of wildlife and boks cutting my road, lots of scenic gravel roads too, as the Namib desert is a cycling paradise. The journey continues with the D707 around the Tiras mountains that broke a bit of my frame, a sandblasting experience on the road through the Sperrgebiet to Lüderitz, Kolmanskop ghost town and the Garub wild horses, and ends with the gorgeous scenery of the C13 along the Orange river and the Aussenkehr grape farms.
