Holy Michael Jackson to backside five! Born April 22nd, 1994, Garrett "Worm" Warnick is too young and too good. Furthermore, he is hungry. Rather than waiting for a project to come his way, he teamed up with filmer.editor Derek Weimer and spent the winter of 2013 making his own full part happen, The results are pretty damn good. Click, watch, learn, and remember the name Garrett Warnick.

A little over a week ago I saw Vish Matepi's video on VitalMTB with this same view. Check it out: http://vimeo.com/14287562 I took an older 150cm ski pole, cut off the basket end and took off the grip. Bent the grip side end of the pole to match the curve of my helmet, and screwed it into my helmet with some hose clamp type mounts. Increasing the diameter of the camera end of the pole with duct tape, I used GoPro's handlebar mount with the cam hanging upside down, facing back. Finally, added an L bracket off the back of my helmet to add a counterweight- in this case I used two Princeton Tec bike light batteries. End result...well, you get to watch me for over 4 minutes...hence "Vain-Cam". However, I think it's fun to mix the standard POV shots up, and this was a cool test. I'm glad I didn't see anyone else on the trails, because I did look ridiculous. Check out the drop on Fuzzy Bunny at 2:09 and Willie shredding next to me at 2:30!

The Compass series captures a visually stunning full spectrum experience from ski trips to three beautiful countries: Russia, Italy, and Japan. The contrasting culture, mountain shape, terrain, snow quality, food, language, music, pace of life and architecture all play into what it feels like to ski and travel abroad. For Nimbus, the series is a further departure from a mass appeal approach to ski movie making. This short movie is dedicated to our friend Masami Sasaki 1953-2013. This March I spent a little over two weeks in Switzerland on a film trip with the Meatheads. While the original plan was to chase storms around the Alps, we ended up staying in Schwanden and exploring the Glarus Valley the entire time. Why? Conditions elsewhere in the Alps were no better, we we didn't have any competition for first tracks, and the family we stayed with in Schwanden was amazing. Thank you so much to the entire Ortlieb family! Sami and David are incredibly talented skiers, Felix was kind and patient with us, and Ursi should be sainted. Thanks to all of their friends and relatives that also helped us out! I had a ton of footage from the travels and valley and really wanted to show more than just skiing, so I hope you manage to get through the first half. Second half is same 'ol helmet mounted GoPro footie...but in Switzerland, so it's cool! Cheers, AW

In April 2012, snowboarder Aline Bock and freeskier Caja Schöpf went on a 10 days boat trip to the Lyngen Alps in north Norway, to escape the crowded skiresorts and to find some untouched powder. Enjoy the clip and see what they have been up to! Aline: " I think I can say that my last trip to northern Norway was once in a lifetime. What made the trip extraordinary and unique were the remote splitboard tours and the long hikes from our swimming hotel up to the top of high mountains, which had the most amazing view to the sea I have ever seen. The lines down to the ocean made me speechless, and the hike over the sandy beaches back “home” gave me the shivers. Caja: "For 6 days in a row, we skinned up 1200 -1400 meters to have the most beautiful freeride runs down to the ocean. I can’t describe how incredible fascinating this was… several times we were speechless of the beauty and impressing nature. It was a very unique journey, I’ll never forget." With winter looming in Jackson, I went out to get a downhill lap on the Lithium trail on Teton Pass before any more snow piled up. One awesome evening lap lead to another the next morning...which in turn brought on a few more laps throughout the week. A few hundred bike-hike intervals later with my GoPros and I've got solid documentation of one of the best downhill trails in the US. A big thanks to Courtney and Willie for joining me on a few of the outings. A huge thanks to Teton Freedom Riders and all the volunteers that have put in time on the trail system around Jackson.
