We are proud to be part of this wonderful project for athletic footwear brand, Saucony. The four spot campaign for broadcast and online was conceived and written by the team at the Massachusetts-based agency, Mechanica and features the driving statement "Find Your Strong." "The Saucony concept of 'Strong' is unique and somewhat intangible," says Libby DeLana creative director at Mechanica. "It's a sense of what the human soul is... it's the runner, but also the environments explored. It's more who you are than what you do. In essence, the struggle is what reveals 'Strong,' and those human experiences are what we set out to distill and showcase in this campaign." The campaign was directed by Andre Stringer. "I instantly saw that our primary challenge for this project was creating an undeniable expression of the simple sentiment, 'What is Strong?' To achieve that," he said, "I proposed a shooting approach that would allow us to find the embodiment of strong. To get truly real and emotive performances, I believe in pushing athletes -- and every project collaborator -- to their height of performance. In this case, we feel the finished result reflects total dedication from all the talents involved, both on-camera and behind the scenes." This film is our newest offering born of our collaboration with Under Armour's in-house agency. It tells the story of UA's constant product innovations with the E39 technology and how it helps Julio Jones, star pick for the NFL draft, reach his true potential. Julio's performance is at the center of the piece with the graphic interface of technological data supporting him with feedback of where he is excelling and where he is needing improvement. Continuing Shilo's mission of design-infused storytelling the live-action narrative is enhanced with striking design to heighten the messaging and experience. Stemming out of our first collaboration with Cartoon Network, we directed this spot featuring the young and talented Elijah performing his original rap. Really, Elijah made this super easy - once everybody saw him at auditions, we knew we had our star. Directing isn’t just about giving people orders; it’s as much about finding the right people and letting them do their thing. Even though we were making this piece for a primarily younger audience, we shot, directed, and produced this spot with a sophisticated tone. Kids are smart. They know what’s hip. We worked closely with Cartoon Network to animate some of their characters (like Scooby-Doo and Shaggy) in our own original way. By bringing them to life within Elijah’s world, they served as an extension of his imagination and a device to interact with. We also paid special attention to the typography and animation to bring a fresh new level of style into the piece. Elijah’s rap was accompanied by original beats from our partner-in-crime, Darrin Weiner.
