                    • NMC Map Matcher at University of Texas at Austin

The NMC Map Matcher is designed to take a set of georeference points, such as public transit GTFS shapes, GPS tracks, etc., and project them to an underlying node-link representation of a transportation network. This allows GTFS sets, for example, to be used for transportation planning purposes. The algorithm maintains multiple candidate paths, which turns out to be very effective in dealing with a variety of ambiguities in the mapping. The corresponding paper is: Perrine, Kenneth A., Alireza Khani, and Natalia Ruiz-Juri. A map-matching algorithm for applications in multimodal transportation network modeling. Transportation Research Board 94th Annual Meeting, Jan. 2015, Washington DC. The open-source code repository can be accessed by going to: http://ctr.utexas.edu/nmc/nmc-map-matcher
