Between 1928 and 1932, Western Union and AT&T Long Lines built two of the most advanced telecommunications buildings in the world, at 60 Hudson Street and 32 Avenue of the Americas in Lower Manhattan. Nearly a century later, they remain among the world's finest Art Deco towers—and cornerstones of global communication. “Urban Giants” is an 9-minute filmic portrait of their birth and ongoing life, combining never-before-seen-construction footage, archival photographs and films, interviews with architectural and technology historians, and stunning contemporary cinematography. this was a pretty exciting shoot to be a part of. we got to go inside one of Cisco's data centre and spend the day looking for interesting shots and compositions. Matt had some rough boards and shot ideas for us, but most of the visuals were inspired by what we all saw there. it was fun shooting for something that would be so heavily covered in animation and text in post. it meant we had to think in a new way and make sure the shots we long, slow, and composed in a way that fit what would be added in post without knowing exactly what would go where. // directed and edited by Matt Rutherford of ROCNOIR (www.rocnoir.com) // cinematography by stillmotion // shot on the Red Epic with the Red 17-55mm and Zeiss Cp.2 lenses all on a Zacuto rig. // camera movement by the Cinevate Ballare dolly, Atlas 200, and Kessler Pocket Jib, For licensing inquiries, please contact discovery@storyandheart.com

Help us build the first #NoSpyProxy datacenter out of NSA reach. Please Contribute&Share! https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/cyberghost-vpn-nospyproxy/ We are not only exposed to hackers and data thieves; now everybody is also under attack from government surveillance agencies, sometimes with the help of your own local internet service provider. But we know the solution: Encryption is the only way to assure internet security. No matter where you are, at home, work, school, travelling, or using a public WiFi network - our service, CyberGhost VPN, encrypts and secures your connection and protects your privacy online. CyberGhost VPN is internet security at its best. Now we want to take things to the next level and improve our proxy servers! As a global player, CyberGhost provides plenty of VPN servers all over the world in many countries, and taking care of these servers is a crucial part of our daily work: The hardware needs maintenance as the software does. But most important of all: Technicians have to make sure a system has not been compromised – a task so important it needs to have a proper schedule. And while built-in alerts and remote check-ups are sufficient enough to make sure the software has not been overtaken, a hardware check will always lack the times ‘in between’. If the secret service takes a chance on intruding a server for the time between two hardware checks, they will go uncovered for exactly that period of time – and they could do so, because there is no direct control over the servers by CyberGhost. And that’s exactly what the company is up to now: Bringing the hardware under direct control as another layer of security. We have already invested $ 67.000 (approx. €50,000) towards this goal, but we need your help to finish the task. With you, our users and friends, we will be able to build the world’s first #NoSpyProxy data center. Thanks!
