    from David Adkin Added 0 0 0

"Debt Trap" is a one-hour documentary that examines why Canadians are carrying unprecedented personal debt loads. The film looks beyond blaming individuals to reveal how the current debt situation has been created by large financial lending institutions which have systematically targeted different segments of society to ensnare them into debt, while capitalizing on major economic changes which have left more and more people without access to secure, decent-paying jobs. This 8-minute excerpt from the film includes comments from Brett Williams, author of the book "Debt for Sale", and introduces us to two young people who candidly share their ongoing struggles with credit card debt.
