On Friday in an interview with Al Hunt from 'Political Capital' on Bloomberg TV, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said that he would support any action by Congress to eliminate the debt ceiling, allowing for even more government spending. Al Hunt asked Geithner if he believes "...we ought to just eliminate the debt ceiling." "Oh, absolutely," Geithner said. "You do? Will you propose that?" Hunt asked. "Well, this is something only Congress can solve," Geithner said. "Congress put it on itself. We've had 100 years of experience with it, and I think only once—last summer—did people decide to use it to threaten default on the American credit for the first time in history as a tool for political advantage. And that's not a tenable strategy." Hunt then asked: "Is now the time to eliminate it?" "It would have been time a long time ago to eliminate it," Geithner said. "The sooner the better." http://www.FreedomBrief.com http://www.facebook.com/FreedomBrief http://twitter.com/FreedomBrief http://www.youtube.com/FreedomBrief http://pinterest.com/FreedomBrief

From 1900 to 2012- This video demonstrates the growth of government over the past century. By using per capita calculations this animated graph offers a clear picture how the United States central planning has created government control that should have been elft to state and local powers. An over bearing centralized society is the oposite results of what the founding Fathers had for America. "Everybody agrees socialism is a failure and yet in practice we keep moving down the socialist route." Milton Friedman.

October 9, 2012 ~ Brookings Institution (Washington DC) When we talk about debt reduction and fiscal policy, numbers often dominate the discussion. But they don't tell the whole story. How do we step outside the competing numbers that frame our economic debates, and consider together the human and moral realities behind them? How can we make a personal connection to fiscal policy that shapes our lives? How do we restore civility to the debt discussion? Live from the Brookings Institution in Washington DC, Krista Tippett lead a conversation with Senator Pete Domenici, a former six-term Republican from New Mexico and chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, and Alice Rivlin, director of the Office of Management and Budget under President Clinton and the first director of the Congressional Budget Office. They are political bridge people who bring differing approaches and shared love of country to generations of economic policy. In this tense political moment, they offer straight talk and wise perspective.

This is my student film from the Intro to Production course at Regent University. Each student was assigned a social topic and my topic was the nation's debt crisis. We shot this movie in under 4 hours and I had an awesome cast and crew. Logline: "Raising taxes and stimulus spending will not solve the nation’s debt crisis. Only federal spending reductions, tax reforms, and decreasing entitlement programs." Thanks to everyone who participated and made this film possible.
