The "Augmented Hand Series" (by Golan Levin, Chris Sugrue, and Kyle McDonald, 2014) is a real-time, interactive software system that presents playful, dreamlike, and uncanny transformations of its visitors' hands. See also this demonstration video: vimeo.com/golanlevin/augmentedhandseries. This video shows a screen-captured "debug view" featuring (clockwise from top right): the visitor's unaltered (input) hand; the transformed (output) hand, with an extra finger; the input hand's labeled contour and mesh; and an overlay from the Leap Motion controller that has been calibrated and aligned to the input hand. This video is silent. Developed in openFrameworks (OF), a free, open-source toolkit for arts engineering. Here's the debug view for my most recent iOS app, Swipin' Safari. It shows how the app optimizes its drawing routine by determining which shapes are on screen -- and only draws those shapes. The active area (what you see on screen when you run Swipin' Safari) is directly in the center, displayed as a red rectangle. Active shapes are drawn in full-color, while non-active shapes are drawn as outlines with points. The bars at the bottom show the distribution and placement of shapes in relation to the camera area. See Swipin' Safari in action: https://vimeo.com/64364581 Download the app from the iTunes store: https://itunes.apple.com/app/swipin-safari/id635434195?mt=8 Swipin' Safari was made with OpenFrameworks!

          Tags

Tags are keywords that describe videos. For example, a video of your Hawaiian vacation might be tagged with "Hawaii," "beach," "surfing," and "sunburn."
