    - Some excerpts from interviews with former child soldiers in the North Kivu Region (DRC) 2011. What have happened? In July 2011 the London based playwright and director, Tommy Lexen traveled together with the Human Rights-Researcher, Katarina Reigo, to one of the most unstable and dangerous countries in Africa, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), to carry out extensive research for his new play 'Like Enemies of the State' – a play that will tell the stories of current and former child soldiers in the region. What we did? During this three-week expedition, the research team traveled across the DRC to the eastern parts around the town of Goma, which is one of the most war-ravaged locations in Africa in modern time. The research provided Lexen, with the first hand exposure and exclusive personal accounts from 18 different former child solders, both boys and girls ranging from the age of 12 to 22. This video is showing some of the research that is behind the play. All people in this film have approved that it can be published. For more info about the play, visit: www.likeenemiesofthestate.com

          from Protection International Added
