1. About fractals

    from Szyszka Added 5 0 0

The animation was created as a semestral assignment with the camera movement as its main assumption. 3DS Max was used to manoevre the depth of field. My main goal during the creation of this audiovisual project was to sharpen recipients’ senses. Enjoy!

      • The Roasts Intro

        from Mark Parris Added 13 0 0

First attempt at making a branding for a local comedy show that I help produce. We are looking to up the production and actually publish clips from our shows. To date we have over 25 different Roasts of fictional or famous characters with tons of footage that has never seen the light of day. This short spot will most likely be modified, it was created in Cinema4D after Eyedesyn published a tutorial on cartoon fire. Ideally I would use turbulencefd, but I can't afford it at the moment so cartoon flames will have to work. After Effects was use to add a glow, fire distortion, and depth of field.

                      from Eric Goldmann Added 142 0 0

Some sample shots from my Nikon D3300 with both the 18-55 kit lens, and the 50mm 1.8 lens. All footage is unaltered. I've been using this camera for about 3 months now, and I find myself using it primarily for interviews and close-ups because of the shallow depth of field that it can achieve, especially when using the 1.8 lens. The Good: -Shallow Depth of Field achievable -60fps capability -Vibrant colors -Crisp detail when lit properly -User Friendly Tha Bad: -Very difficult to get a steady shot due to the lack of image stabilization. Tripod or rig is almost required. -Poor low light quality. Footage is noisy in low light settings, and noise can even be seen in the shadows in relatively well-lit shots. -Vibrant colors reduce your ability to color correct in post. -Poor image quality in uncontrolled shooting situations ie. outdoors. The Verdict: The Nikon D3300 is a great entry-level DSLR at a great price. However, the noise, poor low light performance, and lack of image stabilization make it a poor choice for run-and-gun shooting, which is the style of shooting most entry-level filmakers gravitate toward. The camera can produce a great image, but you have to put time and effort into lighting and stabilizing, so the camera is essentially only usable in controlled settings. If you're looking for an entry-level DSLR for video, get something else. If you're looking for a camera to add to your professional quiver, get something else. If you're looking for an affordable DSLR for photography, the D3300 might do the trick.
