Apart from a few shots which could be mistaken for Austria, I'm not too happy because I don't feel that I've returned the due favours to Cromford justly. I have never seen canal water so clear, it was begging me for some aquatic exploration. Unfortunately on this occasion I was unable to oblige. Now, I find myself fighting the sensibility of patience to return, suitably kitted, in order to capture as many ounces, from as many angles as possible from this area. As for the crooked building, obviously built by first year apprentice masons and window makers, I'm almost sorry that I had to correct it ;) They say that a Trout loves to be tickled, well, I tickled this one with a copy of Sony Vegas. The time of take was 16:40 so the light was fading fast . This visit was not intended as a shooting exercise, it was merely a preliminary trip for a visit, when I shall also (hopefully) get up close and eye to eye with some bigger fish.

    • HD Time-lapse - The Morledge, Derby Bus Station with artistic effects

This is a time-lapse video I created on 28th April 2006 in Derby, U.K. The video is made from 1242 individual photographs (1024x768). At 45 seconds I have repeated the video again but with an arty angle to it and again at 1.29 I did this by means of batch process and recorded scripts in Paint Shop Pro X. Because these are just jpg images it means you can process the photographs in a graphics editing package and then create the video from them. You can also watch my youtube version of this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCiR5Reu_Mc Notice on my youtube version I have opted for pan and zoom, this is because the resolution is limited to 320x240 pixels so its possible to move into the view but retain the quality. It is a view of The Morledge as seen from the very top of Cock-pitt car park. On the right of the shot is the Old Derby Bus Station that was demolished in 2006. At the top Dead centre of the view is Derby Cathedral, To the left is The Guild Hall, just below that to the left is the green roof of Derby Market Hall. Please note you are NOT allowed to take photographs or video from the Cock-pitt car park without prior permision from Westfield Shopping Towns ltd. I would like to thank them for allowing me to take this footage as well as some other photographs from their car park. It is no longer possible to take photographs from this view point as the car park roof is now fenced off. For photographs of Derby and Derbyshire, visit my Local website : http://www.derbyphotos.co.uk/ Hope you like the video, please comment.

Another good old time-lapse test from my back garden, this time to see how the stars turn out on the camera. Next time i'll go 'on location' and do a time-lapse a little further away from home, maybe featuring the odd lake or cow. Music - 'Max Richter - Sarajevo' from the album 'Memoryhouse'

Water-cum-Jolly is a stunning and beautiful valley in the Peak District, that contains some of the best and hardest sport climbing in the area. It is also home to a large variety of wildlife, which makes the dale a fantastic place to climb and walk. This short video gives a glimpse at some of the wildlife that can be seen in the area, and features 3 classic sport routes from the late 1980's and early 1990's: Agent Provocateur - 8a+ The Free Monster - 8a Rumble in the Jungle - 8a+

This short film shows our friend Malcolm's beautiful 7mm narrow gauge layout at Harrogate's Festival of British Railway Modelling in early 2007. Note that Malcolm sold this layout in March 2011 to a guy in the West Country. Shot on a Sony HC1 (1080i) and edited in High Definition in Vegas 7 and then converted to 720p WMV (25 fps as I work in PAL land) for Vimeo uploading. This is a bonus feature on the 2008 Special Interest DVD I've done on Thurston OO, Ely & District Model Railway Club's multi-award winning exhibition layout of that Suffolk station as it was in the late 1950's/early 60's. See the "teaser" video on Vimeo and a DVD extract on my own website www.shootingimage.co.uk Also, see our Club's NEW (as at March 2012) website www.elymrc.org.uk for more details - it will get regularly updated with all the exhibitions that Thurston and our other layouts will be attending in the next few years. Tags are keywords that describe videos. For example, a video of your Hawaiian vacation might be tagged with "Hawaii," "beach," "surfing," and "sunburn."
