Modern Residential Architecture: This one story “modern country house” is situated on top of a knoll and surrounded by 6 acres of dense woods. Sloping terrain allows for views of “the Gunks” mountain range and Mohonk Tower to the south as well as spectacular sunsets to the west. Our clients wanted a home that offered plenty of privacy but liked the idea of seeing the “lantern” glow of their house through the trees from the main road below.

Cheers is a simple app that will let you invite friends to party, for a beer or just to hangout in a few seconds. You can select friends, some venue, set a time and send invites. Once everybody is in the same place in the same time you’ll receive points and badges. So you can became the best party animal in the city! It’s just a design concept, not the real app. I wanted to create minimum valuable product to show the main idea. I thought it would be interesting to record my screen while I'm working on a project in Illustrator. This was inspired because I've been giving illustrator tutorials and was wondering how long it actually takes me to do things (I already had sketched out and idea of what I was going to make). This is sped up 20x and even features me troubleshooting a problem. Read about it: http://jacklynn.com/2014/11/process-digital-sketching/ Music: MitchiriNeko March from Mitchiri MitchiriNeko

The glass vase surrounds the plants with security. It reminds of the fragility and the importance of life. The mirror lens around the plant appropriates the image of the surroundings and makes the plants observe their reflection in a mirror. Narcissus represents nature as delicate and requiring protection, but also as selfish and egotistic. Production method Narcissus is an effect of cooperation with numerous highly qualified craftsmen. Glassblowers manually produce the glass vases in a wooden mold and give color using a traditional coloring method. The collar surrounding the plant is made in using metal spinning and is later burnished, powder colored and protected against tarnish. Metal elements are welded in a metal workshop.

In this one week experimental workshop, we explored the potential of sound and paper to create a theatrical, live performance. Our core concept was to repurpose trashed paper and reflect on the process of other teams in the workshop. Throughout the week, we collected paper trash from our classmates and recorded their sounds and dialogues as they worked on their own projects. The clips of their conversations and paper noises were mixed into a chaotic track of audio which is ‘released’ when the paper trash is swept. Hence, ‘simulating chaotic conversations through the gesture of sweeping trash’ became our key concept for the performance. Sweeping is a very intuitive gesture to collect trash paper. To release the sound of this gesture, we attached seven contact mics to various pieces of paper trash. These pieces of trash were then buried amongst the larger pile of paper trash. The vibrations from the broom and paper are captured by the contact mics and this sound is then used to modulate the audio through a vocoder effect. As the paper pile becomes more dense and the contact mics come closer together, the sound is amplified. For the performance, we projected the live video and audio onto a wall so a larger group could view the performance. Through this process, we learned how to use the relationship between sound and materials to create meaningful installations as well as how to record, edit, and modulate the playback of sound according to how an object is manipulated. If we were to continue this exploration we would experiment with different ways to connect the contact mics so we could better capture the gesture of the broom.
