The Ghana ThinkTank is Developing the First World. Founded in 2006, the Ghana ThinkTank is a worldwide network of think tanks creating strategies to resolve local problems in the “developed” world. The network began with think tanks from Ghana, Cuba and El Salvador, and has since expanded to include Mexico, Iran, and Afghanistan. The network continues to grow. These think tanks analyze the problems and propose solutions, which are put into action back in the community where the problems originated – whether those solutions seem impractical or brilliant. Solutions have involved hiring Immigrant day laborers to attend social functions in a wealthy Connecticut suburb; helping people replace PowerPoint presentations in their lives with social theater a la Augusto Boal; recording funny, dirty memories from the elderly to play for younger people; initiating games of street chess between neighboring but isolated cultures; renaming a dog “love”, dog-tags and all; and forming a focus group of racist people to design a pro-immigrant ad campaign; among many others. Some of these actions have produced workable solutions, but others have created intensely awkward situations, as they play out different cultures’ assumptions about each other. This project is an attempt to transpose parts of one culture into another, exploring the friction caused by solutions that are generated in one context and applied elsewhere, and revealing the hidden assumptions that govern many cross-cultural interactions. By applying a typical process of community development against the grain, distant communities begin to see the effects of their own decisions and assumptions about other cultures. The Ghana ThinkTank was founded in 2006 by Christopher Robbins, John Ewing, and Matey Odonkor. Carmen Montoya joined the project in 2009. Thanks to: Creative Capital, Creative Time, Queens Museum of Art, Purchase College SUNY, Puffin Foundation, Black Rock Arts Foundation, CEC ArtsLink, smART Power, Vera List Center for Art and Politics, Outpost Artist’s Resources and Dillon de Give... and of course, all of the think tanks, volunteers, and organizations that make this project possible.

The Battlecruiser serves as the base of operations, and can be customized with weapons or infrastructures that will boost the squad numbers, teleport soldiers or even bombard the battlefield. Faction relations. There are a number of neutral minor factions in the game. These factions will have missions available for contract work. When the player completes missions for a certain faction, the relations will improve with that faction. On the other hand, completing missions against a faction will lower the relations with it. Having good relations allows the player to train or buy units unique to that faction. Having bad relations will make that faction randomly attack the player during missions. Upgradeable and unique (per class) skill tree for all units 5 worlds with different environments and weather conditions that directly affect the battle: rain, fog, snow, ionstorms and more insane stuff. Different unit classes with specialized roles: Recon, Tactical, Assault, Support, Engineer. Each class can carry a different set of weapons and has its own abilities.
