The Region is highly deforested and degraded. Only temporary rivers are found nowadays. Droughts and flooding occur regularly and put the children and families, livestock and farms at risks. The ICPRC Project is funded by the German Government (BMZ) and cooperation with World Vision Germany and Kenya. It contributes to a more sustainable use of natural resources and prepares the communities to be better prepared against the adverse effects of climate change. Main interventions are re-vegetation (FMNR) and afforestation, promotion of a more sustainable climate smart agriculture, diversification of crops, promotion of energy-saving stoves and micro-solar systems, environment education and disaster preparedness.
