Ladies and Gentlemen., http://www.disasterresponse.org.uk Strategic hardware to increase resilience following any natural disaster is required immediately following the aftermath of such an event. An ultra large mobile sea-based floating unit can carry significant equipment, supplies, utilities and a trained crew to wherever they are needed instantaneously needed. International Disaster Rescue's mission is to save, support, and sustain human lives through the utilisation of a large capital marine asset specifically developed in preparation of such a situation. Currently, nothing like this is in existence for rapid reaction and life support. This proactive forward thinking solution will help mitigate the more profound challenges we are facing in coastal regions from the increasing rises in sea levels, coastal floods and storm surges much of which is being compounded by the effects of climate change. Being prepared is the key to disaster response. Have a look at my above video and please join me in the funding of the design of such a vessel for the future, as a first step to making this vessel be one step closer to being in the Water. Disasters are happening regularly and we need to be better prepared. Please donate on our website or our Kickstarter Campaign starts on 1st Nov 2014. Your name will be written into the Vessel's Preliminary specification for posterity. Many Thanks. Kind Regards. Andy Deaner. www. disasterresponse.org.uk

Radar for Life Map is a web GIS application that identifies geographic areas which are potentially damaged by natural disasters and enables the general public to remotely validate the damage. Radar for Life provides disaster response efforts with a unique, reliable and early source of information that makes quicker and more focused response possible. Radar for Life leverages Esri's ArcGIS platform and a novel radar data processing technique developed by the Advanced Rapid Imaging and Analysis Center for Natural Hazards, a co-venture by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Caltech, to demonstrate how GIS can improve disaster resilience. Radar for Life Map has two primary functions: 1) to identify and visualize geographic areas which are potentially damaged by natural disasters and 2) to enable the general public to remotely validate the damage for use in disaster response effort planning. www.radarforlife.org www.equipgis.com aria.jpl.nasa.gov
