Shot in Fire Island, New York, this film (4min. 23 sec) captures the secrets of eternal youth as Maia Helles, a Russian ballet dancer turns 95 but still remains resolutely independent, healthy and as fit as a forty year old. Made by Julia Warr, artist and film maker who met Maia on a plane 4 years ago and became utterly convinced by the benefits of her daily exercise routine, which Maia perfected together with her Mother, over 60 years ago, long before exercise classes were ever invented. The only completely unedited version of "Levels" online. This IS the directors cut. Hype Williams is once again setting out to reinvent what is expected from hip hop music videos. So this is an unusual one. Hype came to me and said, "I'm shooting a video with Meek Mill and Rick Ross for you to edit... and there will be zero performance." Now as someone who constantly has to see the same cliche music videos with the same uninspired footage I was intrigued by the prospect. If people want to see an artist perform, they can go to a concert. Music Videos should always serve as visual artistic expressions of the track it supports and there is no rule that says that has to include a performance. What followed from that conversation was Hype traveling from Miami, to New York to Connecticut shooting for 8 days or so. After its initial release some tried to claim stock footage was utilized, I assure you Hype personally shot every frame (Including the muzzle flashes. We had Uzis and AR15's full of blanks firing in our offices the last night of editing) The resulting video is a giant metaphor both about the song and a commentary on the current state of hip hop music videos. People have said things like, "Its not a music video, it's one big advertisement" They're both right and wrong. Just about every music video in the last 6 to8 years has been an advertisement. No large videos get made without corporate sponsor dollars. Hype just decided why sugar coat it? Show it for what it is and the levels it represents. So this is what we created in the editing room. A video we knew most would hate, but most people simply don't like change. (It should be noted the artist and label love it) Some call it different and generic in the same sentence. The ever popular, "I pictured something different for this track." is thrown around. I can say this, Hype only puts his name at the head of music videos he feel truly stand out, and he placed his name on this. So I ask you, watch with an open mind. Pay close attention, no image is random. You may not love it and thats ok... there are after all levels to this shit.

Earlier in 2012 I spent some time in Tasmania with a good friend of mine. I’d like to share a little of our Tasmanian adventure. To inspire you. Exploring the outdoors is something I really enjoy. There is always a secret place, a creek, a field, a place of magic hiding away from the tourist route. Places that are not on the top 10 things to do. Places not so well travelled. Driving around the most direct roads, the highways, was something I wanted to avoid where possible. I wanted to see the ‘backcountry’. To get up early with the sun and go exploring. Like the explorers of old… discovering. We made many impulse turns down random dirt roads, pulling onto the kerbside, squeezing our bodies through barbed-wire fences to find unusual places. Chasing the glimpse of something special you caught from afar, or just exploring on a hunch. Believing, hoping, and wishing for something special. Of course there was reward in visiting the known. Walking among the enormous Antarctic Beach Trees in Mt Field NP (National Park). Taking a boat around the coast of Bruny Island. Freycinet NP’s Wineglass Bay. The Bay of Fires. Bicheno and your bakery. And how could I forget Cradle Mountain NP. This is what we found, many places known and some unknown. Start planning yours. Love. Discovered by Syfy was a bespoke Syfy Channel Promotion outlining the channels mantra to finding new and exciting content first. The creative execution was to follow a 'Dot' and its journey throughout many different scenes and surroundings. Like we all do when discovering things we can look in the most obvious places. However this 'Dot' was a symbol of Syfy's promise to look above and beyond the obvious, when seeking out new content. The entire sequence from concept to final completion was undertaken in under 3 weeks. 2013 European Promax Gold Winner - Best Design 2012 UK Promax Gold Winner - Best Design Design Director – Dan Aldridge Lead Animator – Martin Allen (Envy Post Production) Script / Copy - David Hicks Audio - James Taylor

                      What are Tags?

Tags are keywords that describe videos. For example, a video of your Hawaiian vacation might be tagged with "Hawaii," "beach," "surfing," and "sunburn."
