I wrote and directed this PSA series in 2011... Nike has a philanthropic division called Nike Game Changers. Nike and the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development commissioned me to work with the young dancers featured in this PSA series (There are 10 PSA in total) These young dance teams and high school students travel across New York City speaking to other youth about various social causes and use dance to further illustrate and strengthen their message and social cause. I wanted the location we chose to represent the various boroughs the kids live in and represent. I also wanted the location to accentuate the various messages and personalities of the individual dance teams.

Laboring under the hot August sun, fifteen women inmates from a maximum security prison in upstate New York worked with artist Suzanne Lacy to transform three wrecked cars into sculptures, moving testimonials to the incredible violence they experienced in their lives. As they worked on the cars, memories unexpectedly returned. They sent their three wrecked cars into the world--the Abuse Car, the Brick Wall Car, and the Healing Car--in the hopes that their stories would educate people to the true impact of violence against women.

The theme of this amazing film is "empowerment" and the director Craig A.Kirkland has chosen extremely well in cast selection. Camariah is played by amateur drama student Shanna-Gaye Wheatley who shows much potential as she plays a young girl who emotionally abused in the family home leaves to fulfill her dreams. Eventually leaving Jamaica to become a recording artist abroad, its a fabulous story and bears an element of "real life " in its story line... Camariah makes it and still takes care of the family that treated her so badly back home.. Its about humility and resilience and .. a brilliant and emotive script using what the director knows and understands of domestic violence to pen a thought provoking script ...featuring Garfield Lewis , Phil Morgan, Sharon Rose, Marcia ferguson Walters and Everton EverReady Thorpe
