    from 3BL Media / Added

One in four women in the United States will experience abuse. Mary Kay’s latest PSA puts faces behind this shocking statistic by telling the stories of four real domestic violence survivors who overcame abusive relationships. The women featured in the film prove that abuse can happen to anyone but there is always hope for a new life. One in Four challenges viewers to think about women in their own lives and provides domestic violence prevention resources. If you or someone you know needs help, text “loveis” to 22522. Maggie The Retriever (Bang Bang) tells the story of a violent, alcoholic father and the horrific impact of his actions, all through the eyes of his 10-year old daughter. Too young to make sense of her father's behaviour, the little girl dreams up a fantasy in which a monster is terrorizing her family, leaving screams, cries, and broken bottles in his wake. Her loyal dog by her side, the little girl tries desperately to escape the horrors of her home, running faster and faster, until a terrible tragedy strikes. With nothing left to lose, she makes the ultimate sacrifice, her innocence, hoping to end the nightmares and protect her family. Moving, tragic, and terrifying, this short film is a tribute to those that have suffered at the hands of domestic violence or alcoholism and found themselves unable to understand, or wondering "why me?" You are not alone.
