Info: Rescue Merdeka Review Gig is a indie music fundraising & charity performance to uphold independent voice (merdekareview.com) in Malaysia. Nao is one of the nine acts of the show. Straddling the line between the classic punk energy of the legendary Fugazi and today’s manic metal/hardcore upstarts System Of A Down, you get the hard-hitting outfit NAO. Arguably the best band in the current Malaysian local Chinese independent scene, their politically charged live set, with its fair share of double pedal thumping, funkoid metal interludes, jarring dual guitar hammerings and spirited vocals, had fists pumping the air in glory. Never far from voicing out social concerns and addressing anti-racial issues through its punk template, the band is rare breed unafraid of hitting a raw nerve.

Info: Rescue Merdeka Review Gig is a indie music fundraising & charity performance to uphold independent voice (merdekareview.com) in Malaysia. The Maharajah Commission is one of the nine acts of the show. The Maharajah Commission is one of the rare Kuala Lumpur outfits confidently independent and punk enough to exploit its individuality and freedom. With mostly deconstructionist rock and exploratory instrumental jams, the band's debut Dialogue Amoureux (Monkey Records/AGE, 2003) is a sinister and unrepentant work of free-form experimentation that defies description. It's got the quirk of Pavement, some gripping Slint, the low key of Silver Mt Zion and a dash of John Zorn in the midst of the ever-evolving clatter that allows for a collision of broken down indie-rock, ragged folk, twisted jazz and whatever the anarchist fancies that fall in between the cracks.

Soundscape Records & Dong Tai Du Music jointly present a one-night only performance by PET CONSPIRACY (宠物同谋), one of the most popular bands in Beijing & China. Halfway between an art project and a punk rock show, PET CONSPIRACY have become popular in China and abroad for their powerful and borderline live acts. MTV Band of the Month in 2009, Best Electro Band in China in 2010, PET CONSPIRACY have become in less than 2 years one of the hottest and original band in China. Since 2008, PET CONSPIRACY paved their way to Europe where they grabbed international audience attention performing in some of the coolest European clubs and made their appearance in Arte TV, BBC and international compilations. Musically speaking, PET CONSPIRACY takes influence from punk rock, new wave and electro music, while their live acts brings the energy of Peaches and Crystal Castles mixed to the theatrical atmospheres of German surrealistic movies. PET CONSPIRACY is a project, rather than a band, watching their shows is an experience, rather than simple entertainment. http://www.myspace.com/thepetconspiracy Reviews: http://www.timeoutbeijing.com/features/Music/11953/Pet-Conspiracy.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Supporting Acts: NAO http://www.facebook.com/isnao The musical form developed from the design theory, with math-like equation, encompasses a mixture of cartoonish joyous melodies. Influenced by Japan’s rich musical expression, it’s said to be the most beautiful manifestation of a diverse mix. With a decade of music history, it’s one of the few Malaysian bands across multiple music scenes. Having done numerous overseas tours and performances, its music has transformed from rage to peculiarly interesting and lively; focusing on creative and joyous absolute music as its musical blueprint. ENTERPRISE www.facebook.com/enterprisekl Enterprise is a five-way mashed for your pleasure. Enterprise will make very comfy undies fly without having to take them off and has no logical explanation for it. Enterprise loves you.
