Save The Whales focuses on educating the public, especially children, about marine mammals, their environment and their preservation. Whales and dolphins belong in the ocean with their families, not in captivity. http://www.savethewhales.org In 1977, 14 year old Maris Sidenstecker II (with the help of her mother Maris Sidenstecker I) founded Save The Whales, and they continue to lead the organization today. SAVE THE WHALES is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Educational Organization. This video was filmed and edited by Sally Bartel. It highlights sperm whales, humpback whales, bottlenose dolphins, spotted dolphins, manatees and gray whales. All of these animals were filmed in the wild. None of these animals were, or ever have been, held in captivity. During the filming, these animals were as curious about the videographer as she was about them. When you look into the eyes of these animals and see their close social interactions with each other, it becomes clear that these are intelligent and sensitive creatures. The ocean is their world and their life blood. They have no place else to go when humans pollute the ocean with chemicals and with deafening sonic blasts. You can help by supporting the valuable work of http://www.savethewhales.org. Humpback mother and baby video provided by George Willis. Sperm whale eye photo provided by Sue Bird. The song "The Father's Heart" is by Tony Anderson.

this began life (like most of my songs) as just as a title. it slowly acquired verses and there exists on soundcloud a version of it with some lo-fi beats. for live purposes i was obliged to rework it for acoustic guitar. this was recorded t'other day in my bathroom as my amp seems to have stopped working. i hope to record a new version of it soon and get round to making a proper video for it (which i've been threatening to for at least 2 years now).
