The idea behind this video was taken from a parallel lines project in my Experimental Video course. Every student was given the exact same lines of dialogue and told to create whatever they wished as long was the dialogue was in the same order. My interpretation of the script is set in a society where everyone always walks on the sidewalk. Then one day a group of friends stumble upon where it ends, and everything they have been taught is challenged.

“Be sure to pack the toothbrush, eat Curry noodles through the wormhole.” Travel through time with Spongebob Squarepants, a bowl of curry noodles and a clock without numbers. The exhibition “Time Travelers Chronicle (Doubt): 2014 – 802,701 A.D” by Ririkrit Tiravanija takes us on a journey where the future is chromed, and time is experienced afresh in all its possibilities. Inspired by H.G. Wells’ dystopian novel “Time Machine”, Tiravanija’s works present multi-layered references of how we keep track of time that could be measured scientifically or re-imagined through our selective memory of past, present and futures.

The end of the world came fast. Between the time the warning had sounded on the TV, till when 16-year-old Paige O’Connor awakened sometime later, civilization had been crushed. The attacks had come by “them” – those things in the ships in the sky that had appeared suddenly, and without warning. And as Paige would soon discover, the attacks had only been the beginning – those things had plans for the survivors. Aftermath is the first book in the new After the Fall dystopian action series, which follows a young girl’s struggle for survival in the wake of civilization’s collapse, and humanity’s domination by an alien race of beings. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VD66QYO
