This is a 3:38 minute HD dramatic video choreographed to very powerful music, which introduces the viewer to Volcanoes. It is designed as a motivational "trailer" to be shown in classrooms by Earth Science and Physical Science teachers in middle school, high school and college as a visual Introduction to the power and wonder of Earth's volcanic nature. Please rate this video and feel free to comment. If you like it, please help me spread the word by posting links on your media websites. The more students who can enjoy these dramatic videos, the better! I wish to thank all the quality video and music producers whose postings enabled me to assemble this video for educational use. To best enjoy this video, turn up your speakers. The music is very powerful and dramatic! Subscribe to my channel for other video trailers in Earth Science, Astronomy and Biology. I will be releasing new ones periodically. I can customize this video to add your name or school name at the end credits, for a very modest fee. If interested, email me at "fsgregs@comcast.net"

On a crisp autumn Saturday, Oct. 2, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory opened its doors to the community for its annual Open House: a day of free lectures, demonstrations and workshops for adults and children. This year’s theme, "Earth on Alert," highlighted work by Lamont-Doherty scientists on hazards that have dominated recent headlines—the Gulf oil spill, the Haitian and Chilean earthquakes, and the Iceland volcano. The event, which drew over three thousand people, featured activities for science enthusiasts of all ages, including a walking tour of the Lamont forest led by tree ring scientists and a display of old and current earthquake-monitoring seismometers. Other activities and presentations included a panel discussion on careers for students with advanced science degrees; an exhibit simulating an erupting volcano; and faculty lectures on subjects such as hurricanes and climate change, and clean drinking water in Bangladesh.

                  • Men Can Not Drill Deeper than 12 km. Why?

The secret Soviet drilling program started in 1970 and found surprising results that are now partially available online. The program, called Kola Ultradeep (or Superdeep), tried for many years to drill deeper than 12 km, but they could never get any deeper than that. There seems to be something preventing man from getting any deeper than 12 km. Could it be that God has set a limit on how deep we can go? Why was this program kept secret for so many years? What did the Soviets discover under ground? Kola Ultradeep made discoveries that put current geology models in question. Examples: the rock does not go from least dense on top of the crust to more dense under the crust. In fact, the rock is porous and holds water, all the way down to the deepest ever drilled. This helps explain the great flood and the account of Noah's ark. Pattern of 12: http://www.elperfecto.com/2011/11/07/12-why-is-this-number-all-around-us/
