http://indexbook.com/libro.php?idLibro=1241&ln=en Mid-Fi takes a extensive look at the recent change in the perception of how a computer can be used in a graphic-design/ illustration process. Our generation of designers, artists and illustrators have all grown up surrounded by computers, and their unlimited options and tricks. Now there seems to be a consensus for using the computer as a tool, instead of as the main instrument for creating graphics and art. Mid-Fi is an exploration of this hybrid crafts-based approach, mixed with modern technology, and the new forms of expression that brings. The selected work in this book, is not necessarily resisting the seduction of new technology, but rather mixing the best of 2 worlds; Low-Fi and Hi-Fi.

A full lenght lecture by Emil Kozak recorded at We Love Graphic Design 2012 in Copenhagen - a celebration of the wonderful world of graphic design in the shape of a one day seminar featuring lectures from some of the most important, inspirational and insanely creative graphic designers right now. Danish born, Barcelona-based and extremely talented Emil Kozak was inspired to take on graphic design as a result of his life long passion for skateboarding. He began at an early age to develop his skills, inspired by skateboard-art and album covers. Growing up in Denmark, the long tradition of scandinavian functional minimalism is inevitable and the result today is a unique artist with brilliant ideas running a studio, a clothing/surfing brand and exhibiting in art galleries all over the world. Kozak's style is fresh and positive, but often includes a message that digs deeper. He is a master of composition and has an eye for detail that is not seen very often. Typographic, clean lines and few colors is often how Emil Kozak's artwork is described. Yet, there is always an unexpected surprise in the shape of obscure references, wordplays, codes and hints. ‘Reality Is A Shared Hallucination’ The exhibition in BOX consists of drawings and screenprints. All the exhibited work is inspired by the human need to seek meaning and find the system in our physical environment. Emil Kozak is a danish graphic designer, living and working in Barcelona, Spain. He started his studio back in 2003, and since then he has worked for some really nice clients, doing even nicer work. With his background in music and skateboarding it was almost obvious that he needed to do work for companies such as Vans, Element Skateboards, Nike and Salomon Snowboard. In the recent years Emil has also done brand identities for example for clothing company TwoThirds. In 2012 Emil gave a great talk at We Love Graphic Design, and we are so proud that we can introduce Emils work to a danish audience. For more info about Emil, visit his webpage at emilkozak.com
