‘When I came to the UK my first work was in a car wash... I would get only £25 a day.’ In the UK, there are many employers that offer work to migrants who may not be able to find other work. Frequently these workers are paid as little as £1.50 per hour, for long days. This film explores how and why this happens through a series of interviews and archive footage. Made by Shorss, produced by the British Film Institute in 2013 as part of the Remapping Europe Project, supported by the European Commission. This work is part of Doc Next Network media collection.
