Film by Eric Minh Swenson. Music by James Luchessi and Slade Defunct Templeton Allie Pohl is a Los Angeles based conceptual artist whose work deals with projections of perfection. Pohl's work is largely based around the “Ideal Woman,” a concept based off the American cultural icon, Barbie. Pohl enhanced Barbie to Western society's “ideal” of 36-24-36 measurements to show the unattainable "cookie cutter" form. Pohl aims to make the viewer aware of the hypocrisies that pervade Western culture. The Ideal Woman symbol is repeated throughout her sculptures and installations. Sarah Elise Abramson is a twenty-eight year old artist and currently the youngest artist in residency at the renowned Angels Gate Cultural Center in San Pedro, California. During her almost two year residency, she has been published in numerous magazines including American Fine Art Magazine, Culture, and Glamour Girl, and has exhibited work at multiple galleries and venues such as SOMarts in San Francisco, The Vex in East Los Angeles, and The Eventi Hotel Big Screen Plaza in New York City on a 30’x16’ HD-format LED screen. Over the summer Abramson completed an internship with photographer, David LaChapelle and successfully created and distributed a ninety page, perfect bound art magazine called, "Slow Toast" featuring eighteen different artists from all around the world. Work on the second issue has already started. Abramson is currently working on a 35mm photo series entitled, "Parallels" that explores a reoccurring theme found in much of her work. Fascinated with a concept elaborated by philosopher Michael Foucault that deals with "spaces of otherness", she finds ways of incorporating the grey areas of life and the miraculous into her photos. With the use of hypnagogic imagery and a keen eye for composition, she continues to explore the surrealist side of the quotidian.

The Unified Bouldering Championships Pro Tour brought the first-ever pro climbing competition to New York's Central Park with the Eastern Mountain Sports Pro on Saturday, June 25th, 2011. Thousands and thousands of New Yorkers gathered to witness an amazing display of athleticism and drama from the world's best climbers. The crowd collectively held their breath, gasped, screamed and fist pumped the competitors on to their absolute limits. Feeding off the crowd's infectious energy, Vasya Vorotnikov and Angie Payne turned in inspired performances and snagged mens and womens first place victories. On this day, pro climbing captured the attention of thousands of new fans and even found it's way into one of the world's most acclaimed publications, The New York Times. The sport of climbing was on display for all to see in front of one of the world's largest most influential audiences, New York City, and the result was a resoundingly huge success. Climbing represented itself to be every bit as worthy of delivering the energy, drama, excitement and athleticism expected from a major sporting event. Film by Eric Minh Swenson. Music by David Tagg. Composed of mirror, LED lighting, custom built electronic equipment and Arduino programming amalgamated with a preexisting structure, this architectural intervention, at first, seems alien in context to the bleak landscape. Upon further viewing, Lucid Stead imposes a delirious, almost spiritual experience. Like the enveloping vista that changes hue as time passes, Lucid Stead transforms. In daylight the 70 year old homesteader shack, that serves as the armature of the piece, reflects and refracts the surrounding terrain like a mirage or an hallucination. As the sun tucks behind the mountains, slowly shifting, geometric color fields emerge until they hover in the desolate darkness. This transformation also adapts personal perception, realigning one’s sensory priorities. A heightened awareness of solitude and the measured pace of the environment is realized. Lucid Stead draws upon the ideas of the projected and reflected light of Smith’s recent works, while engaging with the isolation of the desert milieu. Smith III explores the seclusion of California’s High Desert and the abrupt austerity of its built environment. Phillip K Smith III received his Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design. He draws inspiration from the reductive logic of minimalism and the optic sensation of California's Light and Space movement. Smith’s innovation and exploitation of new technologies keeps these ideologies current. He was honored as the 2010 Artist in Residence at the Palm Springs Art Museum and was included in the exhibition, Smooth Operations: Substance and Surface in Southern California Art, alongside artists such as Peter Alexander, Larry Bell, DeWain Valentine, and Craig Kauffman at the Museum of Art and History in Lancaster CA. He has been asked to return to the museum for a solo exhibition opening in January 2014. Smith III has been commissioned to create over a dozen monumental art works and his light based sculptures are collected Nationwide. Advertising prides itself on disruption. But what if you could disrupt advertising? On Friday 13th December 2013 we raised $5,500 for The Factory, a local community centre, via a live, interactive installation, which gave the public the chance to disrupt the agency as it worked throughout the day. We hacked Electric Muscle Stimulation units and hooked them up to the Internet via IP cameras. Key members of the agency were then connected to the EMS units, and the Internet via a live stream. The public could watch our day and disrupt it at will with the click of a button. Users chose a stream, clicked the 'Disrupt' button, and watched as the EMS instantaneously zapped our staff, interrupting their ability to continue the task at hand. For each 'disruption' we donated $1 to The Factory, a local community centre with a long history of supporting socially and economically disadvantaged local residents. The interactive webcast lasted more than 4 hours, raising a grand total of over $5500. We achieved precious little work, but succeeded in spreading Christmas cheer in spades.
