        • Blinded Veterans Whitewater Rafting and Kayaking Trip on the Deschutes River

          On Thursday, August 20th, we took a group of blinded and disabled veterans on a whitewater kayak and raft trip down the Deschutes River in Oregon. Dubbed Operation Peer Support, the goal was to encourage physical and emotional healing through a whitewater adventure. Two of the tandem kayaks were co-piloted by blinded veterans of the Iraq War. The day was organized by the Blinded Veterans Association, Team River Runner and Northwest River Guides. Video by Andy Maser and Barney Bonito.

            We gathered a group of paddlers on the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon to make a floating 350. On October 24th, 2009, we're rallying paddlers across the country to participate in the 350.org International Day of Climate Action. This was our practice session.
