    • The Roots of Christian Zionism: How Scofield Sowed Seeds of Apostasy

Ever wonder why so many Christians support America’s many wars, especially in the Middle East? A new Christianity has emerged from the Twentieth Century called Christian Zionism or what could be called, "Angry Evangelicalism," or "Dispensationalism on Steroids." What motivates a nationally known, evangelical preacher like John Hagee to call for a preemptive strike against Iran when it is contrary to what Jesus taught and commanded his followers to do? This “Roots of Zionism” presentation may be the first of its kind with a factual explanation of how Christianity’s latest apostate epidemic was launched with the publishing of C. I. Scofield's reference Bible in 1909, and the influence of the notes in it. While purposefully reaching and helping many under Christian Zionist influence by featuring its identification and cure, this 2nd edition offers hope to all people, regardless of faith, who may also wish to leave it’s grasp. Film clips include action inside Gaza Strip and a moving interview with Shareen, a young Palestinian woman living in Gaza. Check out our website: http://www.whtt.org for the latest news on Christian Zionism and the "Angry" evangelicals. Or listen to our free podcasts at http://www.whtt.podbean.com

        • John Hagee With Benny Hinn: Praying For War, In the Name Of Jesus

Over 40,000,000 American Christians are influenced by what we call, "Angry Evangelicalism," better known as Christian Zionism. Christian Zionists like John Hagee and Benny Hinn wear a mantle of righteousness but often ignore the teachings of Jesus and invoke their will in the name of Jesus, ignoring declarations of Christ like..."Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God," "Love your neighbor as yourself" and, even "Love your enemy." No wonder so many people dislike and loathe Christians. This 4 minute video provides a snapshot of the problem and illustrates one way to challenge those Christians who, for example, fervently believe that the modern state of Israel is a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy and are even willing to go to war against a country like Iran to protect Israel. The video clip of John Hagee praying for war was taken from a 2003 broadcast (before the Gulf War in Iraq was started) of the "This Is Your Day" TV program hosted by Benny Hinn. Our question to any person calling himself a follower of Christ is: "Who Would Jesus Bomb?" Timothy J. Keller, Andrew Delbanco, Mark Lilla, Dale Hanson Bourke Columbia University 2008 Religious differences continue to be sources of social division and violence around the world, and it is often argued that claims to exclusive religious truth exacerbate these tensions. As a result, there is understandable anxiety about the role of religion in public life, and our society attempts to inculcate the values of respect, tolerance, and pluralism. But what are the limits of these ideals, and how do they play out in practice? Is it possible to show respect for individuals while rigorously examining the foundations and implications of their beliefs? More broadly, do the ideals of pluralism and tolerance provide a sufficiently substantive set of principles around which a society can unite? This panel will attempt to identify the fault lines of religion and pluralism, and consider how best to address them.

We pray this panel encourages you as you do just that. See more panels at www.t4g.org.
