I flew with my son to London to watch the great Post-Rock band Explosions in the Sky play at the Brixton Academy. This short film is about the journey to Brixton and the lovely people who came to the show. Shot with a Panasonic GH2@60P, 44Mb hack, 20mm/1.7 & 7-14mm lenses. This is the Shepard Fairey individual video for the "Art in the Streets" project. This project was a collaboration between Vanity Fair, Cadillac and MOCA. I was brought on to direct the short doc videos for each artist as well as a compilation video. This project stemmed from the MOCA museum exhibit. The idea was to take the art out of the museum and put it back on the streets. It was a stellar project with three amazing artists. I'm thrilled to have captured the process of each one. We used the following cams: Sony F3 Sony FS100 Panasonic GH2(with and without PL adapter from Hot Rod) Panasonic AG-HMR10 with head Canon 7D PL (Hot Rod version) Canon 5D Mark II Gopro Contour Canon XA10 and a few others I cant even remember.... Glass: Zeiss Super Speeds Zeiss ZF's and ZE's Canon primes and zooms Thanks to Film Source LA, The Camera House and Hot Rod Cameras for providing gear. Also big love to my rad crew for being so on point throughout the process. And extra special thanks to "Explosions in the Sky" for the amazing music we used for the whole project.

The Texan instrumental post-rock band Explosions in the Sky recently released their newest album "Take Care, Take Care, Take Care". A few days before the album's US release, six visual artists put together responses to the new songs which were premiered on the grounds of Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Exactly one week later, Explosions in the Sky played live at the same site. We had the good fortune of attending both events. Shot on a Nikon D7000 + Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 in 1080p, downsampled to 720p for uploading. http://styleandsyntax.com/

Jealous of the Birds is a feature length documentary from first-time director, Jordan Bahat. The film explores a community of Holocaust Survivors who remained in Frankfurt, Germany after World War II. The reconstruction of a Jewish society in post-War Germany was much derided by Jewish organizations the world over. Nonetheless, about 15,000 Survivors remained. The film focuses on this society, highlighting man's ability to rebuild rather than destroy. The film provides an important contribution to the pantheon of Holocaust related film. Specifically, Jealous of the Birds tells the story of what happened next -- through the eyes of a taboo community of Survivors, their children, and others. Jealous of the Birds features an original score by Hans Zimmer and Aleksey Igudesman. For more information, visit www.jealousofthebirds.com
