In this video, I explain A (not THE) way of exporting displacement maps from 3D Coat to Maya 2010. I also export the low rez geo along with the color, normal and specular maps. I talk about setting up the Subdiv Approximation node for displacing in Mental Ray. I also discuss the relationship between the scale of the model and the Alpha gain of the displacement map's file texture node. Fun Maya-Mental Ray-3D Coat!

        • 3DS Max 2011 and Composite: 32bit Framebuffer Tip

          08:25

          from Daniel Bachmann Added 1,259 4 2

When compositing in a physical correct way using 3DS Max 2011 you have to make sure that your framebuffer type is set to 32bit. If not, some serious headache can occur while trying to get the results in compositing you want. In 3DS Max 2011 Design the framebuffer is already set to 32bit, so you'll have no problems there. I hope this helps you out (I needed quite a time of trial and error to find this out). I hope you enjoy and take a peek on the www.rhinoart.info and www.mediagenerator.ch website --------------------------------------- Beim physikalisch korrekten Zusammenfügen von Bildern aus 3DS Max 2011 muss sichergestellt sein, dass der Framebuffer Typ auf 32bit gesetzt ist.
