1. Dreams of a Journey

    from Felipe Rojas Added 44.3K 543 409

I recently took the time to organize the footage I shot this past year in the state of Georgia, primarily in Atlanta and its surrounding areas; I realize then I had enough material for another film on the subject before archiving it. Most of the footage in this film is taken with the Canon 5d, and a variety of Canon lenses, along with some shots with the Sony EX1 as well. With a few exceptions the majority of the clips were shot at 30fps, and slowed down and edited in a 24fps timeline. I tried hard to come up with a sequence of events that made sense--this in an effort to avoid random shots, something I am always critizised for (for all the right reasons) I am hoping that you the viewer appreciates the effort though. Regards, Felipe

[SEOUL GOT SOUL] FALLEN LEAVES The Road not Taken Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I --- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. Our promotional video for Issue 5 of Kinfolk Magazine (http://www.kinfolkmag.com), a quarterly publication based in Portland, OR. We are a growing community of artists, writers, designers, photographers, cooks and others who are interested in creating small gatherings and finding new things to cook, make, and do. “We experience everything around us through our senses, and while this fall volume continues to share stories of entertaining, community and shared tables, it also explores ways to refine those senses, as a way to enrich the experiences we have with each other… You’ll notice that we have also decided to weave recipes throughout this and later volumes. We hope to share more meals together this autumn, and plan to heighten our sensory awareness of at least a few more details—the wonder contained at the table, in the outdoors, in the people around us.” —Editor Nathan Williams Unfortunately, Issue 5 is currently out of stock. Other issues and subscription options are available here: http://shop.kinfolkmag.com — The film is produced by Matt and Julie Walker of Tiger in a Jar (http://www.tigerinajar.com).

              from Yeti Cycles Added 52.9K 423 13

Like every other season, fall is pretty magical in the Colorado high country. By the end of summer, cool winds are already moving over the mountains and the peaks are getting dusted with snow. The aspens shed their leaves, covering the trails in red and gold, and morning frosts dampen the dry summer dirt. Add it all together, and it means several weeks of absolutely prime singletrack—sticky, colorful, and emptied of the summertime foot traffic. It was in search of those conditions that we headed into the mountains with our SB66s and a checklist of our favorite trails. _ Presented by: www.yeticycles.com _ Filmed & Directed By: Craig Grant Original Music: Seb Taylor Sound Design: Keith White _ Riders: Joey Schusler

In the Northeast US, the leaves in the fall of the year put on quite a show! Some are so colorful, it's hard to believe. I wanted to make a video that shows the spectacular range of color Autumn brings as well as capture some of the crispness in the air. Therefore most of these clips are from the EX1 stock lens, no letus 35mm adapter was used (only a few shots anyway!), I wanted it to be as crisp and sharp as the cool mountain air that time of year brings! I color graded very lightly in Magic Bullet Looks, not going for any stylized appearance, just making it look as natural as when I shot it. The music is some that I own from Digital Juice Stacktraxx.

                    from Paul Frederick Added 23.8K 388 122

EDIT: CAMERA SETTINGS ADDED BELOW: I love shooting fall scenics in the Adirondacks of Upstate New York! This year was a great one for color. I was only able to get out a couple times, but when I did the light was fantastic. This was all shot with my Canon C100 and recorded to a NINJA 2 external recorder. I sell stock footage online at Shutterstock.com so having all the clips already in ProRes is worth the hassle of setting up the external recorder. It also helps give better image quality for very highly detailed shots or shots with lots of motion. These are the ones where the AVCHD codec runs out of bits. Specifics: Shot using a picture profile I cooked up that is a combination of some I found online and tweaked to my liking. Mostly based on the Wide DR setting. Color turned up some and adjusted for more red and contrast increased some, (black level and gamma adjustments). Further post color correction was done to get the most out of each shot. Lenses: Canon 24-105 F4, Tokina 11-16mm F2.8, and most shots were with my Tamron 18-270 super zoom! I love that lens and while it isnt as sharp as the Canon, it gets you an incredible range. I created a custom profile called WIDE PF, listing only my changes below- here are the settings: Gamma curve is L:5, M:8, H:5 Gamma: Wide DR Black-Master Ped: -1 Knee ON: Slope: -15 Point:109 COLOR MATRIX (This is the biggy) WIDE DR Gain:+30, Phase: +3, R-G: -20, R-B: +11, G-R:-23, G-B: -14, B-R: -10, B-G: +1, Thanks for watching!
