Bradley Herron, executive chef of the Genuine Hospitality Group, uses the whole vegetable as often as possible. He sources ingredients carefully and believes that you need the right attitude to succeed in the kitchen. In this episode, he prepares a kale salad with pomegranate, aged sheep's milk cheese, and pecans; sautéed burgundy bush beans with preserved lemon and quinoa; and pan-seared black grouper with herbs. Donate to the Van-raiser and get a Squaw/Alpine lift ticket. Click here: http://www.rockethub.com/projects/33752-bring-local-food-to-tahoe. Your contribution will help bring local food to Tahoe. A regional food system for North Lake Tahoe would link small farms within 100 miles to restaurants, small grocers, schools and hospitals. It creates a hub for farms and markets to sell and buy local food. But it also brings fresher, healthier, sustainably grown food to our community. By building a regional food, distribution system, our community can rely less on a national food system, keep dollars local and strengthen our local economies. In order to source food safely and deliver it fresh, the Tahoe Food Hub needs a refrigerated, delivery van. This crowd funding campaign will provide the Tahoe Food Hub the finances necessary to buy and operate a refrigerated van. Having a refrigerated van is one of the first steps in helping to build a regional distribution system bringing the food from the foothills to the mountains. The funds raised not only cover the purchase price of the van, but will also cover the cost of diesel fuel, maintenance and the driver's fair wage during the organization's first two years. Once we get rolling, we will be able to increase farm to market sales and cover future van expenses. By supporting this project, your financial contribution will help make the refrigerated, delivery van the community's food truck! Thank you! The Team at Tahoe Food Hub
