On 24th April 2013, the Rana Plaza building in Savar, near Dhaka, Bangladesh, collapsed killing more than 1100 people, and 2500 more people were rescued from under its rubble. It was an eight-story commercial building housing offices, shops and also factories manufacturing garments for several international fashion brands. Families of victims are still awaiting for compensation after the disaster. Every year, on 24th April, people around the world commemorate the victims of the Rana Plaza building collapse, calling for a "Fashion Revolution": will the fashion industry answer the question #WhoMadeMyClothes? -- Photos by Suvra Kanti Das / UnFrame Music by Lorenzo Tempesti / http://www.suonimusicaidee.it/ Edited by Giorgia Meschini -- http://www.unframe.com/ - 2015 #WhoMadeMyClothes #FashRev

"Denim is like a fine wine, it gets better with age. Those marks in your denim? You gotta earn em" When Andrea first started designing a denim line, she began looking into factories who could distress our denim for us. We love distressed denim here at the workroom, however what we unearthed was the horrible truth of the denim trade. There are whole towns that are devoted to distressing denim, and with the caustic chemicals used to distress the denim, and the materials used sandblast denim into worn perfection, the impact on both the environment and the workers’ health is disastrous. And so rather than subscribe to the distressed trend, we’ve decided to produced our denim safe and clean without distressing, and make our customers earn their wear and tear. EARN YOUR DENIM is our denim campaign, designed to celebrate the story that your denim tells as you live in it. www.andreamooreboutique.com #EarnYourDenim

I was asked to cover their 3rd annual event called "Runway for Hope" and it was amazing! I captured this show an its cause and I was able to minimized hours, into minutes. So I hope you enjoy it, I was there from 11am-11pm video taping all the way from Make-up and hair and set up to Show Time, the only thing I missed...was the after party (Whoops?) The make up artists and hairstylists did amazing jobs, and the designers stunned the crowd with their creative minds. The designers included Kristie Lance, Julianne Buchholz, Ivy Ritchie, Charifa Labarang and Steve Sekaziga, Luciano Herve Martin Jeudy, Vasto Kids Store, Najha Clothing Store, Moscatel Clothing Store, Faduma Sidow, Kamille Hackney and a sponsor, Banana Republic! Just to give you a bit of information about the "Runway for Hope", here is what you need to know: Runway for Hope Ottawa is a non-profit organization. Their main goal is to promote local talent in Ottawa’s fashion industry while also raising money for local organizations. This year they raised money for the CHEO foundation for their Project Stitch. For more information head over to their website: http://www.runwayforhope.ca Make sure to watch and share this video and spread the word about an amazing and fun cause that Runway for Hope has annually. I was proud to have been able to be apart of it and see this amazing show come full circle.
