Fourteen years ago I was professionally hired to tape a 35th wedding anniversary. Significant things happened in my life that day. I met my wife, Grace, and my extended family. At the time, I didn’t realize I would be staring at my future father in-law through the lens. Through the years, I got to know a selfless father who cared so much about his family; a father who accepted me without any judgment. Yet quiet, his fatherly actions spoke louder than words giving me examples that renewed my faith in life and my desire to be a better father. After learning about his cancer, I had the natural urge to document my father-in-law more. I knew one day I would have to make a tribute video about him. That day has come and editing this video was very personal and sad for me. It was in the editing process that I realized how significant he was in my life and that I captured the soul and heart of my father in-law on his wedding anniversary day all those years ago. Thanks, Dad, for the memories. We will always miss you. Video credit: Leonard Tengco, Arnold Lucero, David Malinag
