This is a video I put together with some photos of my dad. I had a bunch of pics scanned and thought I'd put them together. I also added some sound and clips that my sister, Cindy had sent me on VHS that I transferred. I'd like to do a voice-over, but didn't have time. It's his birthday today, March 5th, and he's been gone about 18 years now, which is really hard to believe. Miss him so much, he was such a wonderful father and a much-loved person by all who knew him. Hope you enjoy the video!

http://www.gty.org/Resources/Sermons/41-9 Well you can open your Bible to Mark chapter 2 as we continue our study of this wonderful account of the life of our Lord Jesus Christ. Mark chapter 2, we're going to be looking at verses 13 to 17, but we're not going to get there for just a minute. I want to set it up a little bit in your thinking. One of the things we always like to do is to think biblically, to get back into the context of Scripture and sometimes that's a bit of a transition. Sometimes trying to get us out of this world, the way this world thinks and the way things exist in perspective in this world may be very different from the ancient world. And sometimes we can make the contrast to help us back into biblical mind set. Let me approach that this way. Let's imagine for the sake of illustration that the Lord Jesus, the Son of God, the Savior, the Messiah had come into the world in our time, to our country in the year 2009. He had come for the reason that He came then, to be a sacrifice for sin. If indeed He had come at this time in this place, to die, He would have been killed for the opposite reason that He was killed in first century Israel...the very opposite reason. Then and there in first century Israel, He was rejected, He was despised, He was hated and He was murdered. And the reason? He was not religious enough. That was the reason. By standards of the Jewish religious leaders, predominantly the Pharisees, He was not holy enough...if holy at all. He was not righteous enough, if righteous at all. He was not demanding enough, He was not legalistic enough, He was not condemning enough. He was not tolerable...intolerant enough. He was not judgmental enough. He was not separatistic enough. He was sub-par to a dominantly religious world view....

http://www.gty.org/Resources/Sermons/41-14 It's wonderful to be back in the gospel of Mark and I want you to open your Bible to Mark chapter 3 this morning as we look at the gospel of Mark. We are going to be looking at a very simple section of the gospel of Mark that essentially has to do with identifying the Apostles...identifying the Apostles. It's not a complex passage, not a doctrinal passage and yet I think it's one of the most encouraging passages in Scripture. It was many, many years ago, of course, that I preached in Matthew and we came to the listing of the Apostles in Matthew chapter 10 and some of you will remember, we spent about three months going through the Apostles, every one of them, all we know about them from Scripture and all about their history and all that. And then not too many years ago we went through the gospel of Luke and when we came to the Apostles' listing in Luke chapter 6, we essentially did the same thing again. I took the time for months to go through every life, every Apostle, all the details. Out of those two series came a book called Twelve Ordinary Men. Twelve Ordinary Menhas been a well-received book and encouraging to see how the story of how the Lord uses very, very ordinary people. But in the consistency with the plan that I have in the gospel of Mark, we're going to have one message, and that's this morning, on these twelve men. As you know, Mark is kind of the newspaper approach to the story of Jesus, want to keep it condensed, keep it fast paced as Mark intended for us to do. And so, we're just going to look at this in a broad and a general sense. And I say that in order to encourage you that if you want a little more detail on these men, plenty can be found in the Matthew series, the Luke series and the book Twelve Ordinary Men....
