      from Felt Tips Added 868 22 1

This tutorial starts with a 2D bitmap logo that we want to create as a ray-traced 3D logo. A vector logo is created based on the bitmap artwork and then that vector logo is used to make a ray-traced 3D logo in After Effects (CS6 and above). The creation of the vector logo from the bitmap is demonstrated in both Illustrator and directly in After Effects using shape layers.

      • CONNECTIONS: Sheep to Chanel

from Roy W Hughes | Scientific Arts Added

The story is set in the beautiful North West of England, and its an inspiring tale of how artists, crafts people and businesses have carved out a future for themselves. We share these stories and explore how these vibrant communities connect. They operate in an ethical fashion and do business across the world. We investigate the networks that exist; of people, of materials, of ideas and the anchoring of all to the land. It makes you realise that you could go out and do this tomorrow, and it asks questions about how we might rethink our rural and city connections. And its also an interesting rethink on questions posed by Evan Davis in the BBC documentary "Mind the Gap"

                      from Lesley Mackay Added 156 0 1

A feltmaking project with artist Christina Sargent at four schools in Orkney. St Andrews, Rousay, Sanday and Glaitness each used a traditional tale which illustrated how the countries and cultures of the North Atlantic are linked by the sea as a starting point for the artwork. During the project the children learned about the ways in which we need to take responsibility for our shared maritime environment. This work was part of the Learning and Teaching Scotland Developing Global Citizenship team's project to illustrate how global citizenship can be embedded in interdisciplinary contexts for learning. The felts will be exhibited at the Scottish Learning festival 2010.
