                    from Alvin Case Added

2012 USA 80 min in French with English subtitles Completely improvised and shot on DSLR and iPhone, THE WHIRLPOOL stars Pierre Perrier ( Sundance TV's "The Returned") and Agathe Feoux in her feature film debut. Original music by Claudia Carty was recorded live to her iPhone during post production. Agathe and Victor meet at Niagara Falls seemingly by chance, although Agathe noticed Victor following her for some time since her arrival at The Falls. The meet, they talk, they make out, and make love all the while sharing secrets but still keeping an emotional distance from each other. The entire history of their romance starts where it ends and ends where it began, in Paris? At Niagara Falls? Driving on the highway? Agathe's memory becomes the cinema that is THE WHIRLPOOL. What actually happened and how it actually happened comes down to how she chooses to remember it all. Structured in a kaleidoscopic manner, THE WHIRLPOOL is a film constructed like human memory with all of its imperfection of detail and false remembrances.
