Artists need to visit Pause Fest: Connect to others, to gain knowledge in order to grow. Every artist has a unique story to tell about his or her style and perspective, by allowing individual stories to be shared, Creatives grow individually and together as everybody learns from one another. This animation visualizes exactly that concept in a very abstract way. 99% of this animation is vector and continues rasterized. Every element in the scene is the same size and but put to gather in different ratios. Expression where used to keep the colors dynamic by creating a texture library. ( See tutorial ) Desktop Magazine: "Your thoughts on why motion designers are so willing to work for love and participate in festivals like this?" Because motion designers believe in their work. They do it for the love of it. Pause Fest is a free platform to experiment with, try new things and for people to become better at what they do. Working for love is the only real satisfying element in this work and it gives you the energy to go on and make the next piece your best piece ever. Artists need a space where they can take the time to communicate to each other and get back to that core issue of why we are doing this. What are we spending your valuable time on? What are we communicating? The festival is a moment to pause! and share what you've learned with other unique designers out there in order to grow, get inspired and learn a whole lot yourself.

Created for Pause Fest Melbourne 2014: http://www.pausefest.com.au/ Music and Sound Design by Danca: http://danca.tv/ Making of: https://vimeo.com/87472185 We were honored with the privilege of participating along with other great animators, designers & studios to create an ident for this year's Pause Fest in Melbourne. The Pause Fest 2014 is all about being connected. After several ideas and sketches drops to the trash, we decided to make an ID where communication devices from different eras would be mixed through various scenes and situations. A tunnel connects a mobile device with a mouth sending morse code smoke signals that turns into msm or whatsapp messages in the cloud or a carrier pigeon that flies from the mobile screen. We decided to join the new with the prehistorical in an encounter where the data transfer and the connection are almost dreamlike or surreal, to end with the most basic and primitive connection, the human contact. Special thanks to George, Caspian and the entire Pause Fest Crew for the opportunity and Daniele Carmosino for the incredible sound design. - - - Awards: - Gold Award for Excellence at Communicator Awards NYC. - Gold Award Motion Category at Create Design Awards Australia. - - - Credits: Executive Creative Director: Martin Schurmann Animation Director: Ernesto Reyna Design: Florencia Tasso, Nicolás Castro 3D Animation: Ernesto Reyna, Manu Correa Soto, Matias Furno, David Mir Cel Animation: Andrés Molteno Music and Sound Design: Daniele Carmosino / Danca.tv Production: Natalia Giuliano

This is a story of the festival, flying around, connecting, gathering and bringing together everything that happens at the event annually. Pause Fest is Australia's most progressive digital festival; one event for the thinkers, practitioners and entrepreneurs of digital culture. I was very honored to be picked among few other great artists/studios, to produce Ident animation for the 2014 festival. The theme for 2014 is "Connected" and after couple of weeks of brainstorming, going trough and scratching few different ideas, I came up with this one. Hope you enjoy it! Twitter: www.twitter.com/@Neekoe Website: www.neekoe.com It was an honor to be involved with PAUSE FEST 2012. I was asked (alongwith other incredible artists) to create an animation ID. This year's theme was "Future", which I struggled with a lot in the beginning. Good friend and talented sound designer, Alain Mikuni, created the brilliant music piece upfront for me to work off from. During my process of research and development I stumbled across an inspiring Quote by Barack Obama, which served perfectly as a lead narrational element. The main visual key object is the "oh so popular" aztec calendar, which worked with the theme and had some interesting geometrical details that I could play with. I also took advantage of the amazing ancient aztec and mexican patterns to underline & reinforce this idea and concept. In summary, my idea of the future is pretty bright. I am very aware of all the danger and negativity that surrounds us, which confirms my theory of "It can only get better". The music and animation style go hand in hand with that idea and overall atmosphere. As usual, I learned a lot whilst working on this project and to be honest, conceptually this really had me going crazy at points, however it also helped me evolve and get a deeper understanding of the relation between moving image and it's message&content. Thanks again to George, Caspian and the PauseFest team for allowing me to be a part of this amazing project - your support is appreciated. Software: Cinema4D // AfterEffects Music by Alain Mikuni (www.soundcloud.com/alain_mikuni) Sound and HD recommended. Apologies for the compression artifacts. Enjoy.
