Colombia - 2012 On my second holiday to this stunning country I decided to do the fatal thing and take my camera along with me. I thought about shooting a timelapse shot or two… I ended up filming on average 2 shots per day over the course of 4 weeks and it really became a working holiday! I was a little nervous to begin with. I had been there before, but didn’t take my DSLR along with me. Now Colombia is vastly safer than it was 20-30 years ago – however its still a little risky if you don’t know where to go. Also, the very nature of timelapse means your stuck in one place for an hour or two and it could be a nice target for opportunists! Luckily I had my father in law and new camera assistant Moises - He even took a small baseball bat along with him on an evening in Bogota! In the end we weren’t troubled at all and I’m so glad I managed to capture so many great images. Quite a bit of this film was shot in Bogota, and in the Quindio region, including Armenia. We also travelled to Melgar, Manizales and Pereira. I was limited in what I could take kit wise due to travelling with a baby. So I took a very lightweight tripod, a Canon7D and my trusty 17-55mm f2.8 lens. Had a few problems with camera shake in post, but actually the small tripod held up OK! This time round I shot a fair amount of HDR timelapse – and had days of processing with Photomatix. On balance I think it was really worth it. So many of the scenes had extreme exposure contrast and I really wanted to preserve detail in the sky and in the landscape itself. It was cut using FCP, and graded with Magic Bullet Looks. All of the tilt shift effects are done in post using Magic Bullet. Please do go ahead and visit this country if you get the chance! A homage to Stanley Kubrick and Martin Scorsese. Update: In March of 2015 – This video was fully remastered, frame by frame, trying to produce the finest picture quality possible. Now is looking more clean, crisp and with better texture then ever in splendid 1080p. Editor's note: Many friends after seeing my video "Tarantino vs Coen Brothers" requested me to do a new "mashup combined of directors", so this time I decided to do a tribute to my two favorite filmmakers, Stanley Kubrick and Martin Scorsese, were 25 days re-watching 35 films, selected more than 500 scenes, and a hard work editing. Editor's note #2: I know that both are different in many ways, this is not necessarily a comparison, "fight" or a competition. It's just a homage for my favorite directors. The "vs" in the title is just a form which indicates a 'mashup subgenre' (most famous in music), when "A and B" are combined, trying to make a creative blending of multiple songs/videos utilizing content from multiple sources. Lists of films used... Dir.: Stanley Kubrick Day of the Fight (1951) Fear and Desire (1953) Killer's Kiss (1955) The Killing (1956) Paths of Glory (1957) Spartacus (1960) Lolita (1962) Dr. Strangelove (1964) 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) A Clockwork Orange (1971) Barry Lyndon (1975) The Shining (1980) Full Metal Jacket (1987) Eyes Wide Shut (1999) Dir.: Martin Scorsese Who's That Knocking at My Door (1967) Mean Streets (1973) Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore (1974) Taxi Driver (1976) New York, New York (1977) Raging Bull (1980) The King of Comedy (1982) After Hours (1985) The Color of Money (1986) The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) Goodfellas (1990) Cape Fear (1991) The Age of Innocence (1993) Casino (1995) Kundun (1997) Bringing Out the Dead (1999) Gangs of New York (2002) The Aviator (2004) The Departed (2006) Shutter Island (2010) Audio Copyright Notices: 'I'm Shipping Up to Boston' performed by band Dropkick Murphys remains courtesy Hellcat Records, ® 2005 'Baby Did A Bad Bad Thing' by Chris Isaak remains courtesy Warner Music Group Corp, ® 1996 'Nude' by Radiohead remains courtesy XL Recordings, ® 2008 This video was purely non-profit and not Aimed at breaking copyright laws. http://leandrocopperfield.blogspot.com/ (Other videos)

This is what i achieved after 20 exhausting hours of shooting on a green screen stage in Buenos Aires, in a single day. No budget at all; just me and some friends. I composited, did the FX and everything else later on After Effects. My good friend Colin Devlin along with Brian Byrne created the amazing soundtrack you'll hear on it. Editing by Sabrina Mottino. This is, what we believe to be, the first wedding shot entirely on 35mm adapters. We chose the brevis and had a crew of 3 shooting the day, with a fourth shooting behind the scenes. We had a wide assortment of gear with some of the highlights being the new Cinevate follow focus, the new Cinevate cage (for handheld work), a prototype of the soon to be released slider, and many lenses. We used a full EOS setup with the 24 1.4, 50 1.4, and 70-200 being the most common as well as some Zeiss primes including a 28 f2, 50 1.4, and 100 f2 macro. On the steadicam we used both the 50 and 28 from Zeiss. The ceremony was shot with the steadicam and two 70-200s. The reception was light using a pair of pro lights (easy to pack) and some diffusion. All other lighting was just using what was available and aside from the 3-5 shots during the photo-session, everything else was shot live as it happened. SHORTLIST EXPERIMENTAL VIMEO + AWARDS 2012 https://vimeo.com/awards/shortlist/experimental A portrait of our society. Consumption and insanity go together. Um retrato de nossa sociedade. Consumo e insanidade caminham juntos. The artist is the blank canvas that changes every act. The intervention in the supermarket goes by various nuances of the total absolute pleasure to disgust, an outbreak within a prison called consumption. The public space is used as a stage of subversion and dialectics with consumers in a peaceful but strong way. The original soundtrack was composed from audio recordings in supermarkets around the world (Sao Paulo, Brazil / Mexico City, Mexico / Mumbai, India / New York, USA / Beijing, China), sounds of shopping carts, people, packages, cash registers and all the noises we hear in a supermarket. www.huckfilmes.com "O curta brasileiro que está entre os selecionados do Vimeo Awards 2012 segue o princípio geral do melhor cinema de horror: a transformação de alguém numa monstruosidade e uma crítica social esfregada na sua cara. Eis o humano de hoje, pelo avesso." Ricardo Oliveira Jornalista e mestre em comunicação pela UFPB

Set in the 1980's a young boy makes a final plea to President Reagan, on behalf of his love interest, to stop the building of a tract home development that will replace their existing community pool. Shot 35mm anamorphic in 1999, Highpoint Pool was eventually completed in 2013 after being on hold for over a decade. After sitting in film storage for 13 years, the negative was pulled, scanned, edited and completed with generous help from friends, some additional ADR from our own kids (now the same age of the kids acting in the film) and a couple small personal loans.
