After a 30 kilometer upstream slog against rivers that were near the top of their banks and choked with dogwood and alder bush we were greeted with a dry river. The first half of our descent was defined by more snarled alder bush and dogwood. When the river opened up a bit the countless beaver dams and grinding out on gravel bars kept our pace in check. Finally, after exhaustion had taken its toll and our remaining vacation days were nearly used up, we DID get to paddle some of the most pristine and remote rapids. Some were most likely never paddled before.

Doch alles kam ganz anders. Wahrscheinlich das gößte Abenteuer meines Lebens. Viel Spaß beim mitfiebern, Harry

One of the toughest adventures in my life!!! During an expected easy first-descent on snowboard down the north-west face of Moech shit happened. So we first got stuck in really icy conditions and then again in the repelling down an icestep. As you can imagine and I still wonder, we survived it.

The first descent of the U3 and U2 sections of the Assegaai River, South Africa. Narrow creeking in the middle of nowhere. We did this on a low level. Next time we come back for serious action on a higher level!! A Kora -- or a circumambulation -- around Mount Kailash often takes three days requiring a trek to an altitude of 18,200 feet at the Drölma Pass. As Kailash is considered the sacred abode of Lord Shiva, out of respect no one has sought to summit its 22,000-foot peak. Mount Kailash is unique in that it’s the world's most-venerated holy place while also the least-visited. Key to the creation myths of four major religions and billions of people, Kailash is only seen by, perhaps, a thousand pilgrims each year. Some pilgrims will perform body-length prostrations around the entire mountain – often having made the long journey to Kailash in the same manner. A Kora around Mt Kailash is a lifelong aspiration of billions of believers worldwide intended to bring one good fortune and spiritual rebirth; Tibetan Buddhists believe that completing a single Kora washes away the sins of a lifetime -- completing 108 Koras ensures one’s transcendence beyond Samsara to true enlightenment.
